Infernum Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 The beard and hair are two excellent pieces. Here's another shot of the President. That's how far down the back of his armor goes (not far). To sort of answer TAFOL's question, the helmet is one piece besides for the cups and yellow stud. Thanks for the quick reply! Great to know that the beard and hair are separate! Quote
Hive Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Good review, below average set. Nothing of interest to me. I do enjoy Biznis Kitty a lot more than I probably should, though... Quote
eurotrash Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Thanks for the great review. Can't wait for the rest... Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) You know, with the Krazy Glue, the battery, and the black magic marker squiggles, I am now *very* convinced that the end of the movie will reveal that the whole film was set in some kid's bedroom. Edit: There's no mistaking what that glue bottle is supposed to be. I wonder how long it's been since a commercial product (like Shell and Exxon) appeared in a non-exclusive set? Hopefully the people over at the Krazy Glue corporation take it all in good fun... Edited December 29, 2013 by ResIpsaLoquitur Quote
prateek Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Looks good. The only real fault I see with this is the glued legs. I would assume it adds unneeded costs. I would've preferred having the leg extensions attach to the back studs of the legs, which would make it more stable, and get rid of the need of glue. Quote
Lt. de Martinet Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 The pants are NOT glued. At least, mine weren't. Pull harder. www.flickr.com/photos/ltdemartinet/11229330324/ Quote

It's actually used with permission. It says so on the box! Quote
ikba Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 The Lego group calling Krazy Glue, that must have been interesting . Good review, I like the set as well. Quote
Legogal Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Marcos, Congrats on a very imaginative build! Love the figs, too, especially Vitruvius! Can't wait to see how this fits into the movie. Clonie, Great review as usual. Your enthusiasm is infectious! Makes me want to start Krazy Glueing things all over…..oooops! (Now my clothes won't come off and my fingers are webbed!) Quote
Scrib Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Did anyone get a second Ma Cop torso instead of a Pa Cop torso? I did today, time to contact TLG and get everything squared away! Quote
Gongoro73 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Has anyone already try to MOD this set into a floor/floors modular? Can't get it off my mind. Quote
klinton Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Has anyone already try to MOD this set into a floor/floors modular? Can't get it off my mind. I don't quite understand the point of that, as it's literally impossible to build 'infinite' floors to make an accurate model. The set does benefit from being doubled up though, with a little bit of reverse tweaking. You're left with an 'arena' space between two sets of doors, a row of four 'think tank' cells, and a longer table in the board room. I left out the TAKOS sprayer on the second door setup, so it's now a functional door. I haven't yet rigged up something to do with the television studio section though (it was eliminated by connecting two sets). I'm thinking it'll have to be it's own 'mini-build', possibly on a plate from the Melting Room set. Quote

I'm working on this and will start building it in bricks this winter. First floor is very "corporate", second floor contains the Melting Room and the third/fourth floor contains the Evil Lair. I don't have a third/fourth floor detail shot available, but you can see the Evil Lair apparatus thru the windows on the first image. Fifth floor will be a penthouse apartment. Gongoro73 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 ^Fantastic! That's the answer I was waiting for. First floor looks a bit odd to me, I think it should be higher than the upper floors, or at least the same height. The street level floor of this kind of buildings/skyscrapers typically are very tall ones. Just my humble opinion. Anyway, great job, Rockethead, can't wait to see this finished. I guess you'll include a copy machine... Quote

I kind of designed the street level before thinking how high the upper floors needed to be to contain the evil stuff. Does your copy machine comment reference something in the movie that I missed or was it just a suggestion to add some office equipment? Quote
Gongoro73 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 ^Yeah, it's a reference from the movie. Metalbeard disguises as a copy machine in one of the floors of the Octan building. It ended up with a couple of robots photocopying their butts. It's a pretty funny sequence. Quote

Gongoro73 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) You're welcome. About the first floor: I don't remember where the main door was located in the Octan Building from the movie, but I would suggest you to build a huge (double) brick built door in the center of the floor. I think that will give a more intimidating look to the building. I'll be watching for new updates. Greetings from Spain! PS. (maybe you should create a new thread for this project, I think we're hijacking this one...) Edited October 21, 2014 by Gongoro73 Quote

(maybe you should create a new thread for this project, I think we're hijacking this one...) Agree that we shouldn't hijack this thread any longer. As to the front door, I was going for the impression that this is a friendly, inviting corporation until you're taken upstairs. I really didn't model the building itself on the movie's version anyway. If I had, it would have to be much taller and black. I already posted one a couple of months ago on the Lego Town forum and I'll do any updates on that one. Cheers! Quote
