Fox Hound Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Hey all! I finally decided to get back into Lego after a long four year break (I was in prison). I guess some things in life really are in your blood (at the moment, it's alcohol). My specialty is insane, massive Star Wars projects. Some of you may have seen my work before (See dolphin below). IT'S A TRAP!... OUR CRUISERS CAN'T REPEL FIREPOWER OF THAT MAGNITUDE!... I WANT PRINCESS LEIA'S HAND DOWN MY PANTS! (Wait, was that line in the movie?) I'm currently working on a project 4X bigger which I hope to construct (God willing) at some point in the near future. But in the meantime, I am still wrapping up the design phase. Specifically, rendering, which has become a problem at 71,000 pieces! Anyway, I heard good things about the people here, so I thought I'd sign up. So long for now, and Happy Holidays! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Welcome to EB! Were you active on MOCpages a few years ago..."Thomas Benedict", or something like that? I think I remember your avatar from when I was active there, and I definitely recognize the Home One. Did you ever finish that 13-foot Executor? Quote
Ritsz Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Welcome to eurobricks! And from now on try to keep yourself on the right track, that way you'll enjoy your Lego more Nice ship btw! Quote
Fox Hound Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Welcome to EB! Were you active on MOCpages a few years ago..."Thomas Benedict", or something like that? I think I remember your avatar from when I was active there, and I definitely recognize the Home One. Did you ever finish that 13-foot Executor? Thanks everyone! As for the Executor, I've currently completed the full design (It's shown in the LDD2POVRAY thread) but can't afford the $30,000 for parts! I'm selling the LDD file on Ebay next week. But will likely only receive a puny amount :( I need George Lucas to fund this. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Thanks everyone! Awesome. It's too bad that it's so big that you probably can't build it with physical bricks, but be sure to show that off in the Star Wars forum! Quote
Fox Hound Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 OMG! It's you! Big fan here :) That ISD is absolutely brilliant! You've got 1/3 the length of the UCS ISD to work with and you STILL made it with better proportions! And It's also nearly perfect to scale with my SSD. As for a physical build, I was once told building a 7-foot Mon Cal was impossible, so... :) If I use a steel cross with the intersection at the ship's center of mass (just under the bridge) I'll have the necessary support to build the Executor around it. The problem is cost. Tiles are worth their weight in gold. That's why I'm trying Ebay. On that note: Can I have your permission to include your ISD in one of the Executor files I'm selling? (The LXF of the rendered pic) Since it wasn't my design, I was going to just include a link where others could download it, but it would be easier if I just packaged the two. I'll send you a free copy :) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 This discussion's probably better suited for a PM than a welcome thread; I'll send you a reply that way. Quote
