This is my first MOC for 20-25 years. It started with that I decided to rebuild all my old childhood models and make sure that they are complete for my children. When I had finished rebuilding all 80+ models, I felt an urge to continue - and with mostly yellow and red bricks left, I went digital.

This is a 16 studs wide modular building. First floor is a flower shop with its own greenhouse on the backside. On the second and third floor lives an old adventurer with his memories.

The total number of bricks used is around 1900. It is not meant to stand alone as you can see on the sides :-)

(The red bricks seen on the sides are bricks of "don't care" color)

I'm fairly satisfied with the interior, while the facade isn't that great, but I've decided to stop polishing and build it for real. Currently, I've bricklink'ed about 2/3s of the bricks required.

Suggestions of things that could be improved is very welcome!

This looks sensational cja! I had a similar experience a few years ago when my first son was born and I dug up my old collection and had to sift and try and remember all the old sets I used to own, then rebuild from the pile, making note of all missing pieces. Very fun detective work. But Lego has changed and it is incredibly impressive to see that with your first MOC you've been able to capture the modern design sensibilities and quality. I definitely hope you have more ideas for modulars that you can share with us. I love getting inspired! I especially like your use of dark blue and the greenhouse. Awesome :) keep up the good work!

I'm not a fan of the front facade, the first first with that oddly shaped arch doesn't do it for me.

However, I love the (more traditional) back facade with the small greenhouse on the ground floor, and the columns on the first floor. And the interior is great aswell, huge attention to details - you even thought to put in a roll of toilet paper :D.

Considering that this is your first MOC in ages, this is really quite impressive!

Be sure to post pictures of that thing as soon as the real life brick version is finished!

Good looking interior. I'm not so sure about the arch on the front facade, but I'm digging the rear. The greenhouse is a nice touch.

I can't wait to see pictures of it bricked.

Thanks for your comments! It's good that you all seems to agree with my own feeling that

the front isn't good. I will redo the front once I've build the complete house with real

bricks.

Originally, I used brick 2339 "Brick, Arch 1 x 5 x 4 - Continuous Bow" for the front

facade arch, but it does not exist in blue. (well, not at a sensible price anyway)

Yes, it is a little tricky to build with digital bricks that I've not seen in reality before,

specially using them in angles that are something else than 0,90,180,.. degrees.

I really like this modular! However I agree with some of the others, the front façade does not quite work for me. But the façade on the back is really really good! I think if you flipped the back façade to the front, the top two floors anyway, and designed a simpler façade for the back you would be on to a winner! I really love the green house in the back, great feature and the interior looks really well detailed too.

Overall fantastic MOC, happy building
