I would like to have a minifig that look's a bit like Samus Aran, because of the shape of the suite a close copy is out of the question but any ideas would be great.

Thanks for looking

The red helmut from the Fire Station sets last year might work decently. Another thing you might want to try is to use standard helmets for shoulder armor.

You can find a lot of things others have done here

Take pictures and show us what you end up with.

Perhaps some Sculpy moulds on the shoulders for the armour, and the creation of decals for the rest of the suit would be a must. A basic helmet could be used, but if there are any good custom ones out there, I'd try and find em. Loving the Echoes sprites you've found there as well.

Here's an idea,

The minifig shoulder armor could make a nice base, then maybe mount some standard helmets or ball joints and alter the front and back parts to match Samus' armor. ;-)

That could work *y*

I like this one the best so farimg_0823.jpg_thumb.jpg This person uses clay to bond most of the pieces.

All of my efforts to emulate Metroid has been centered more on the SNES version gun ship

this is not mine, but is one of the better versions I've found. My attemps were met with limited success. *sad*
