For 2012 my plan was"Less spending, more building"... We all know how well that worked out, yeah right, spend less... Didn't work out, built about the same as 2011.

For 2013 my plan was "Get organized and build more"... Well, I did complete my new studio and I am quite a ways on the organized part, still more to go, but I built about the same as 2012.

For 2014 my plan is to "Just Build more"... Let's see how well I can focus on just one goal. (good luck with that)

What are your 2014 LEGO plans?

Finish my 2 main Projects, Getting organised ( how familiar does that sound :laugh: )

Build a bigger diorama for project 2 , Build a platform for project 1. Getting more organised....( that is the plan for over 2 years now. )

I've got a cupboard with 400 drawers just sitting here waiting to be filled wih LEGO.... should just start... but everytime I get to it, I just start building..... Pfffffff

Don't really know beyond this ..

Merry Xmass and a happy newyear !!

- Spend less

- Build more for my LUG's events

- Worry about joining the Old Timers club

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, tout le monde!

Don't worry about joining the Old Timer's club, just get to be 50 and do it!

Keep building. Good plan. I also intend on continuing to avoid greeting every new Lego product with comments along the lines of 'great, best ever, must have....'. I want to continue to be as objective as I can when operating in a largely subjective environment. While I like most Lego releases, I also think my opinions will continue to express my thoughts when I'm disappointed. PR...case in point.

Andy, another good thought provoking comment. Appreciate it.

My plan for 2014 is to spend no more than 30 dollars a month in Lego plastic. IOW, I defined a budget of $360 to spend in 2014, period. My wish list ATM has a retail value of $520.

Ha! I thought I'd check out what I said in response to this question last year.

That new Modular Cinema is looking pretty exciting - so I've got to start saving up for that.

Build more! Spend less! And publish more MOCs on this forum.

I'd also like to crack how to do water effectively in Lego.

My plans for 2014:

  • Keep spending under control and within the vague, somewhat flexible monthly budget.
  • Improve my MOCing skills.
  • Allow my Lego City to continue it's sad economic decline by turning the Palace Cinema into an Adult-themed bar.
  • Don't build any VW Campers.

My interest in Lego water has... evaporated. Have a great holiday everyone!

I really like you budget, it has a certain amount of flexible control ??? (Huh?)

Why not build any VW Campers?

I budget a set amount, but if a too-good-to-miss deal comes up then I'll 'borrow' some money from next month. It's a great idea, until I realised that although the calendar says it's December 2013 financially my Lego budget account is July 2016.

Why not build any VW Campers?

That fantastic Pimp Your Camper competition totally consumed my life for what seemed like months. I ended up submitting eight entries, but built many, many more that luckily have not seen the light of day.

Why did this sound like a conversation Pinky & the Brain would have.

Pinky: Gee Brain, what do you wanna do this year?

Brain: Same thing we do every year Pinky....TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!

Anywho, I'll probably just do the same as every prior one. Keep buying various Lego sets to bulk up my collection of parts so that one day I can simply sit down and be able to build anything my mind conceives more or less. I don't know; I'm working on it.

Stay away from eBay, Amazon, or any other place that sells Lego for a month

Sort my collection and parts (Now that sounds familiar...) and get everything in order, and invest in three new tables for my recent influx of Space and Castle

Figure out where I'm supposed to put 6597 Century Skyway in my city

I wonder if any of them will come to pass, I think not unfortunately. I'll end up with another load of sets before February, still have the looming prospect of 50,000 unsorted parts, still have the Space and Castle sets sitting on makeshift tables, and Century Skyway next to them.

My LEGO Plans for 2014:

I'll buy the Cuckoo Cloud Palace and an Ice Cream Machine sets.

Continue buying LEGO Movie minifigs

Spend less

Pause buying CMF series when the Simpsons Series released to save more money

Buy the remaining older CMF series online until I stopped.

In addition to my first post : Spend more !! on bricklink and not in the store !! :sweet:

This seems strange, but I guess that it will be cheaper to order in per part rather buying a lot of sets I don't do much with.

Plans for 2014:

Take a break from Technic and go into space and sci-fi building.

Finish my first Technic vehicle so I can finally be done and move onto something else (it uses about 80% of my gears, motors, etc.).

Join the Guilds of Historica.

Get my ridiculous amount of Lego sorted (yeah right...)

Build my first GBC.

Spend less than $300 on Lego for the whole year.

That sounds amazingly familiar. I finally gave up on considering it "borrowing" and just move forward. While i typically go over my budget, I can't imagine how much I would spend if I didn't start out with some sort of spending limit.

My 2014 goal is more MOCs. I'm always behind on sorting but trying to keep up with that just makes me feel like a hoarder so I don't want to set any sorting goals.

 Budget problems ! LOL !

I do that a little different : I work at a gas station and keep the tips I get on the side. I clear a certain amount per week, and buy some of my LEGO sets for that money.

Working with Bricklin is the real challenge for my bank account.. keeping that in balance is difficult, but do-able.

Working with a budget in my mind is the best, so I try ordering under 50 € a month ( still a lot after 12 months ) and sometimes I don't even order !! for a whole month !! .. Well that is ... I just order more the next month  , just what kind of project I'm working on
