ruxtpin Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) You'll have to forgive me, since I'm new here and this is my first MOC. A couple of years ago I came out my own dark ages and jumped back in to the Lego scene. I got a lot (okay - a ton) of inspiration for this piece from Derfel Cadarn's and Mark of Falworth's work. I wanted to focus on three aspects - 1. Build my own brick built rock formations 2. Use the loose brick technique for the water 3. Follow the round tower technique in Cadarn's guide The only thing left for me to do is find some pieces to tidy up the corners of the base. Once that's done I think I'll leave it be for a while. Hope you enjoy the images and any feedback is appreciated! And the back of the tower even has a little poo shoot... Edited December 23, 2013 by ruxtpin Quote

The Architect Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I'll second what Lord Vladivus said. Much better than anything I can do . Quote

Infernum Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Nice work! Great first MOC, one of the best I've seen! Love the bridge and the tower is almost perfect! Have you considered joining the Guilds of Historica? You'd definitely be welcome in the subforum. Quote
mrcp6d Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Awesome work with the MOC! I hope when you get the last 1% of it done, you can get some some pics up with a clean background--you ought to give this the nice presentation it deserves! Quote
Singularitie Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 The dead bushes and old discarded wheel make it just right. It gives it a real ominous feel. Like the above said though, it needs a background for the last bit of flavor. Great work! Quote

Have you considered joining the Guilds of Historica? You'd definitely be welcome in the subforum. I'll definitely take a look into it. It took me forever to finish this one. I've lurked the GOH sub-forum before, but didn't think I'd have much to offer as I'm pretty slow when it comes to producing my own work. Awesome work with the MOC! I hope when you get the last 1% of it done, you can get some some pics up with a clean background--you ought to give this the nice presentation it deserves! Thanks - Will do, once I get those final pieces set :) Edit: I just now realized I didn't even finish giving my thread a proper title. Apologies to all. Edited December 23, 2013 by ruxtpin Quote
