Wow that's a beautiful creation. I'm sure glad you're on nocturnus side. Great use of 45 degree angles. I also like the use of old and new dark greys.

OK, so first of all....great build! Glad you're on my team. Very cool Nocturnus feel to this. Second, I also have the same problem as gedren_y, that you pics are not all visible to me. Unfortunately all of your updates in our Nocturnus PM are also not visible to me. Luckily I follow you on Flickr and have seen them all now there. As for UoP credits, I will give you +1 for the 3 first categories. I am going to hold off on voting for the lighting category. I'd like to see more lighting in the building, but I am not going to be a vote against you on it :wink:

Thanks Kayne, I use a free web-host for my website and therefore it can be rather problematic. I'm going to get a better web-host (one that you actually have to pay for) in 2014.

That's fine with me for the lighting category, I can see why you would want some lighting in the actual building :classic:

Awesome entry! I love the lava and your use of dark bley it the fortress. My tower for category B is entirely dark bley too :laugh:

The Moccing machine strikes again! :grin:. Love the windows and angling! The lava is perfect, do have any pictures of it lighting up in the dark? The interior, as always, is great! Love the top section too, glad you added it! :classic::thumbup:

Very nice fortress, easily recognizeable as SK work! The shape of the tower is interesting and the overall layout looks really good! (a bit puzzeled however by the plants on the roofs and that the drawbridge is not charred by the proximity to the lava :wink:). I also like the interiors, showing some of the life of a Nocturnian soldier is a nice idea :classic:

Regarding UoP credits, I have no problem with giving +1 to the first three claims, and somewhat more reluctantly agree that the lighting also merits a +1 :classic: (my reluctance is mostly due to the uneven nature of the lighting, but I suppose that it represents uneven temperature in the lava :wink:)

Thanks Gideon, I thought the plants on the roof added some nice color and added to the Nocturnus feel of the building, and it seems pretty common for moss/vines/whatever to grow on roofs if they aren't kept up well. If the lighting had worked as I planned it, it would have been much more even. There were going to be two light sources underneath the right side of lava and one in the right lava fall. Unfortunately when I went to put the light sources into place, only one would fit under the right pool of lava (even though I tested how they would fit when I build that section :wacko: ) and the light source in the right lava fall wasn't bright enough to show :hmpf_bad:

Well said! Great stonework and I like the interior, which is a great returning touch in all your mocs!

Really nice solid build Soccerkid! The symmetry of the compositon and the way the building fills the bulk of the stage makes it looks quite squat and menancing - i wouldn't want to be trying to storm it! The roofing looks great and i kinda like the fire retardant foliage too. :wink: Good to see such a fully fleshed out interior too. I have mixed feelings about the lava though - it looks great but i can't help feeling that the repeating pattern in it is a little too regular? Especially at the base of the fall from the rock face - uneven cooling might produce unstable bits of crust, volatile gases might produce puffs or even spouts of flame, etc. I really like the lighting but it's a shame that you couldn't get the right lava fall to light up. UoPwise, I'm totally happy with giving you +1 for roofing, extreme environs and Life in Nocturnus. I will also say +1 to lighting, mainly because it can be so tricky and i feel like you've had a red hot (haha :wink: ) go here, but i'd love to see you revise this to really nail that lava glow. (I know that's a pain and a fair bit of work tho!)

the bridge looks amazing, but wouldn't it burn if it was above lava?

Possibly, it is a bit above the lava, to be honest I'm more used to building snowy environments than lava ones :laugh:

Ahh... yes that would make the lava section rather unstable! Also would affect the light coming through several plates thickness. Did you know that you can get 16x16 trans-clear baseplates? That could go some way to solving your stability issues. :thumbup:

Love this SK! The whole moc has such a dark, sinister and gloomy look to it and it fits just perfectly in Nocturnus! Well done mate!
