TechnicHead41 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Has anyone tried to rebuild the 8043 excavator with the new L-motors yet ?? And how is the performance of it ? Is it necessary to gear it down ? Can't remember that i have seen any videos or pictures of such a mod. Quote
imurvai Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I was thinking about it too. The main problem is the L motor is one stud longer than the M motor so the back of the body would need some redesigning. And you're right, most probably less gearing-down would be enough using the L motors. Quote
D3K Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I think I replaced two of the M-motors with L-motors when I built Juergen's ultimate 8043, and as far as I recall, in that model at least, there was just enough space both longitudinally, as well as room for the added width/height of the L-motors.. Don't remember wether it was width or height... Then again, I might be wrong, haven't gotten much sleep lately Quote

TechnicHead41 Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Great videos Efferman. don't know how i missed them ??? Really like the perfomance of the L-motors and you almost tipped it backwards in the video, to back heavy ?? Quote
efferman Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 yes, it is very back heavy with all of the motors in it, but it is not to much. Quote
