I've had a similar problem. When I first got LDD, my laptop would show the deset, space, whatever background in view mode, but a screenshot would have a transparent background. This was really nice for photo editing. However, when I had to wipe my laptop and reinstall LDD it began to show the desert, space, whatever backgrounds in the screenshot. I switched to the screenshots in build mode, but those still have the grey background instead of a transparent background. This is easier to get rid of in photo editing, but if anyone knows how to actually get back to transparent backgrounds that would be great.

Hello Alient_Ant2.

You posted your question in a 2 year old topic (that related to a very old version of LDD), so I split this into a new topic for you.

Secondly, did you try the tip by Brickdoctor in that original topic to use Ctrl-K? Yes, you'll have to save the file to disk first, but it will give you a transparent PNG.

You could go to "Toolbox -> Take a screenshot" as well.

For better shading of the bricks and a more realistic look, try going to "Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced Shading" and turn the level up. You images look better without having to render them.

Hopefully that helped. Looking forward to those pictures!
