JM1971 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) I'm look for a way to reverse one motor without using 2 receiver channels or cutting up extensions. Edited December 1, 2013 by JM1971 Quote
S.I Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 extension -> old style 9V cable -> extension with polarity reversed might work. Quote
Milan Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 extension -> old style 9V cable -> extension with polarity reversed might work. Not sure about that, PF cables can connect at only one position. JM, maybe to add one line of gears, on one side 16t + 16t to one motor, and 8t+ 8t+ 8t to another motor. Quote
D3K Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Just use a polarity switch between the IR receiver and one of the motors? Edited December 1, 2013 by D3K Quote
DrJB Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Just use a PF switch... Very 'elegant' solution ... needs not be 'mechanical'. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Very 'elegant' solution ... needs not be 'mechanical'. But it ts electrical not mechanical..... Quote
DrJB Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Exactly ... one more example where electrical can often be more 'elegant' 'effective' than mechanical (though less obvious). Edited December 2, 2013 by DrJB Quote
DrJB Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) hehe .... I'm a mechanical engineer, my first thinking was of course ... a 'mechanical' solution, which is typically what the Technic theme is about. Though, per BL or other sites, that Pole Reverser is not a common part, unless of course you have 8297-1 / 8258-1 / 41999-1 ... Edited December 2, 2013 by DrJB Quote
Junpei Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Yeah, mechanical things are cooler, what would GBC be if each model was operated by multiple NXT servos? Mechanical is much more elegant than electrical IMO. Quote
JM1971 Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 A balanced way to do this but the pf switch is just what I was looking for, nice. Quote
