I'm look for a way to reverse one motor without using 2 receiver channels or cutting up extensions.

extension -> old style 9V cable -> extension with polarity reversed might work.

Not sure about that, PF cables can connect at only one position.

JM, maybe to add one line of gears, on one side 16t + 16t to one motor, and 8t+ 8t+ 8t to another motor.

Exactly ... one more example where electrical can often be more 'elegant' 'effective' than mechanical (though less obvious).

hehe .... I'm a mechanical engineer, my first thinking was of course ... a 'mechanical' solution, which is typically what the Technic theme is about.

Though, per BL or other sites, that Pole Reverser is not a common part, unless of course you have 8297-1 / 8258-1 / 41999-1 ...

Yeah, mechanical things are cooler, what would GBC be if each model was operated by multiple NXT servos? Mechanical is much more elegant than electrical IMO.
