drdesignz Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Here's a crazy monster truck I just finished. It's an unrealistic, extreme design. But it was fun to do. I wanted to put together a set for the Triple Build Contest. I was inspired by all the recent monster truck Lego models and was going to build a transporter, like the City set 60027. But it became too big. I have no doubt it's well over 500 pieces. Even if it wasn't, I'm sure the tractor trailer would have been enormous. I'm not going to have enough time to build something new for the contest, so I'll just have to sit this one out. No big deal though. I'm enjoying seeing the entries so far. This truck has functional four wheel steering. The driveshafts are actually used for the steering mechanism. The body comes off in one piece, as seen in the last picture. I think it would be easy to convert to another body style, like a jeep, or even just a tube frame without a body. I originally built a hood, but decided the truck looked better with the exposed engine bay. Quote
Energo Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Amazing! Wonderful MOC. But if it was with PF, it would be an ideal MT)) Quote
Junpei Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Looks awesome and ridiculous! Does it have suspension? Quote
drdesignz Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Looks awesome and ridiculous! Does it have suspension? Thanks! Yes and no... the springs are too stiff for the weight of the truck. You have to push pretty hard to get it to compress. Quote
Paul B Technic Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 You have done a great job with this, I love it. Quote
