Please help me choose which "face" looks better on my bus

Greetings!

I'm trying to decide which of those front-ends would look better on my lego bus.

Each variant is corresponding to a different generation of the Bluebird All American.

I'd greatly appreciate your input! Thanks!

On the left: Early 1980s All American Rear Engine (1957-1988)

On the right: Blue Bird All American A3 (1999-present)

I like the one on the left, probably because of the lights .... one question though: why do you need the name 'BUS' on the model?

Way back when, a company I worked for was a supplier to Blue Bird and I was frequently at one of their large assembly plants. I think I like the first design better, but the second one is more faithful to how I think a Blue Bird product would look. BTW, I can see two designs with the one on the top being the 'first' that I think looks better but isn't as faithful to the company's design style.

Lights would work in both versions. Maybe i should make a real photo of the second variant.

Good question about the label. It should be written "school bus", but it is too long to be written with original tiles with letters.

Btw, I'm assuming you want this to be a cheese wagon, er, school bus so I agree with DrJB that you can drop the word 'bus" off of the front.

The second one is more accurate, but I like the first one better. Somehow it seems more like an archetypical school bus than the second one.

Both are great, though! They're a really nice mix of accuracy and classic (slightly cartoony) Lego minifig scale style.

Great looking buses! Are they RC? I think the first one is a bit more realistic. The second one looks good as well, but I think it would look better with side by side low/high beam headlights. This would be harder to incorporate though, and your model is still accurate since some of the Blue Bird buses had a combined low/high beam light.

Also, here in the states, school buses have either red or red and amber flashing lights on the top. I've never seen one with just amber lights.

I'll make a photo of the second variant built with real bricks, and with working lights as well. It seems to be impossible to make a comparison between a real photo and a LDD screenshot

Unfortunately i've never seen an american school bus in real life. I used only pictures as a guide to building this model.

The previous version of the bus had different colored flashing lights on the roof, but i changed them to single color since i altered the construction a bit.

Here's a pic of how the flashing lights looked before:

Would it be okay if i use transparent red for all the lights on the top? Or do they absolutely have to be different color: amber & red?

And yes, the bus is RC. Here is the full presentation:

Very nice! I'm impressed you could fit all that in to the base of the vehicle.

As for the lights, all the ones I've seen in recent years do have both red and amber lights, never just red.
