Paperballpark Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'm trying to find a size of train wheel which I think I've seen on here, but I can't find it on BL. It's the size between this: and this: but not this: If I remember rightly, it has a technic pin hole like the latter two wheels above, but is smaller than those two wheels. Can anyone help? Quote
dr_spock Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Are you refering to these wheels? http://www.bricklink...Item.asp?P=2927 Edited November 12, 2013 by dr_spock Quote
TaltosVT Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Was it a Big Ben Bricks wheel? http://bigbenbricks.com/products/products.html -Elroy Quote
Paperballpark Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Yes I think it was, TaltosVT. Thanks! I wondered why they were referred to as Big Ben wheels... I assume their 'large driver' wheels and 'flanged train wheels' are pretty much the same as Lego's own? EDIT: Ah yes I see they are. Edited November 12, 2013 by Paperballpark Quote
Lego Otaku Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 They are not quite exactly the same. Slightly different offset hole for link connection and different thickness. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Yes I think it was, TaltosVT. Thanks! I wondered why they were referred to as Big Ben wheels... I assume their 'large driver' wheels and 'flanged train wheels' are pretty much the same as Lego's own? EDIT: Ah yes I see they are. You were probably looking at the BBB medium drivers. The one odd thing about those drivers is that you can space them at 3.5 studs. Looks great, but you then need to either skip every other wheel when connecting the rods or use custom rods. Of course you can also use 4 stud spacing. A long time ago lego said there was no demand for train drivers, then Ben F. went and started producing drivers, proved there was demand, and wouldn't you know it, lego started producing drivers. It is a crazy world. You can find more about BBB in RailBricks #5. Functionally, the lego drivers come in a single size, have less clutch on the axle hole then BBB large drivers, but they have the counterweight, and grove for a traction band. Quote
