samlr Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 /!\ THIS DOES NOT CONCERN LEGO SHOP IT SELF /!\ Phone numbers starting by "00 800 xxxx xxxx" can be very heavily charged by you operator. Here the story : Two weeks ago, I broke a part from my SSD 10221 not available directly on the official shop. I also wanted to get the 5001709 Clone Trooper. I called the "00 800 xxxx xxxx " official shop number and passed an order. First call; 4m 38s waited, then I had to hang up for personal reasons. Second call : 20m 02s, waited, than passed the order and payed. This morning, I received a special bill from Free ADSL, my operator for these two calls : 147,55 € (about $160). About 6 € per minutes "00 800 xxxx xxxx" numbers are normaly International Freephone Numbers. I've never paid calling those before on other phones. But the result is here : I've just payed my 10 cents, 1x1 modified dark stone gray plate for almost 150 € Calling Free ADLS after sales service didn't bring anything for the moment. So I wrote to them and am waiting ... I'll keep you all informed. By than, have fun and watch your bills ! SamLR Quote
Lego Otaku Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Ouch would have been much cheaper to buy one off bricklink! Glad I don't like in France but thanks for heads up warning to anyone who lives in France and possibly other European countries. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 That is always my concern when calling anywhere (local or international). Hopefully things will get sorted out. Thanks for the heads-up. Quote
samlr Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 Hello everyone, Some good news; after they cut all my services (phone, internet, TV), they finally realized they made an error. Calling them was useful after all !The Lego Shop's phone number seems to be free passing through Free ADSL. I wont check, however . Thanks for your messages ! Best regards, SamLR Quote
dr_spock Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Your phone company charged you for a toll free call? 800 number calls are paid for by the owner of the number. Quote
CopMike Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 As this concerns your phoneservice provider and really has nothing to do with TLG I´m moving this thread to the Community thread. Quote
