I cheated a bit and used Photoshop....

The Alien Conquest sets never seemed to go over but I have always liked the figures!

It was that particular Alien Conquest set that dragged me out of the Dark Ages!

I really liked the line - fizzled too quickly if you ask me. And now look - "MARS ATTACKS!" the brand from Topps, is making a total comeback this next year or so. LEGO was just ahead of the curve. I am hoping there may be interest and we'll see them again in the future.

Cool use of photoshop. I tried some beam effect things like that years back but was never happy with them. Dug them out recently...(they are 10 years old) and man did I build terribly. And photoshop worse!

I have three of that Alien Conquest set. I love the theme so much I have bought sets that could be used in the theme, like the RT TA (The blue Star Wars walker) and the double bladed blue police helicopter. It's one of the best sci-fi themes LEGO has done in decades.

It took awhile to get just right. The alien ship was about 5 pictures against a white background that stitched together as a panorama in order to get the unique perspective making it loom above everything. The businessman trying to escape was just one photo against a white background. I then put all of them on a background of my living room, added the laser, and popped in some lens flare since I had just watched a few JJ Abrams movies =)

I really do like the little clinger guy in this set.

Me too! One of my all time favorite themes. I especially love the ADF forces. Also noteworthy for repurposing to ADF standards, the Ninjago Jay's Stormfighter set.

I just wish this set was still avalible. It just had to come out when I was in the Dark Ages. This does look really cool. Keep up the good work! :-)
