Zane Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Do you want it, sir? I bet you do, I bet you do, say no more... Quote
Shakar Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Yes sir, I want this. Karzahni is just...wow. He's Karzahni-esque, that form just fits him. I need this. EDIT: Well, I might comment this better, because this set does deserve it. Let's start with the Matoran. As I excepted, both have the Mahri Matoran designs, though they do have some variations (feet, weapons, tubes, colours), which is nice. Sarda, however, could use a new mask. I prefer Idris, yet another set with the cool trans light blue. That...thing...I really don't know what it is. I'm leaning towards a trap of some sort, but I'm not sure. Over BZP a member said it could be a throne, and I must say this is a nice idea. Anyway, this does have some nice pieces, so if I don't like it I'll destroy it for parts. Now, to the heart of the set. Seems like I was right after all, the "mysterious third figure" IS the dark lord Karzahni himself. The green and lime isn't what I was excepting, but it looks very good. Some say that this set doesn't look like Karzahni. I have to say that I disagree. He's a mad, maniacal, evil lord. This set has a cape (although I never viewed K with a cape), lots of spikes, claws, and just looks downright creepy. Plus, he's a shapeshifter (to be precise, he can do to himself the same thing he does to the Matoran : rebuilding). The head is really creative, same for the Ehlek heads used as his gauntlets. I am puzzled by the fact that he doesn't have his mask. Still, this guy is great. Cons? I see very few cons: One, I don't see the meaning of the Takadox blades sticking from the shoulder area. Second: what's with the squid launcher? No problem anyway, since, like I did with all the four Barraki I own so far, I'll not even bother applying it to the model. Third: LEGO, THROW AWAY THE RED 2X AXLES. THEY RUIN THE COLOUR SCHEMES, THEY'RE ANNOYING AND USELESS. THE AMOUNT OF BLACK ONES I HAVE IS REDUCING DRAMMATICALLY BECAUSE I HAVE TO REPLACE YOUR STUPID RED ONES WITH THEM TO SAVE THE SETS' COLOUR SCHEMES. THANK YOU. That being said, thank you for yet another brilliant set Lego. Now we just need the pic of the Toa and his vehicle. Shakar Quote
Plural Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Sweet! Love the green Vakama Hordika heads for thighs. Are all of these in the same set or are Sarda and Idris separate? Quote
Western Forever Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 All in one set. It's a three-pack. And yes, Karzahni doesn't have his mask, but remember, he is a shapeshifter. Quote
Shakar Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Both Karzahni and Makuta can shapeshift (well, Makuta right now can't, since his special armour has been crushed by the door at the end of MOL), just in different ways. Makuta is pure energy contained in a shapeshifting armour, while Karzahni is a biomechanical being able to rebuild itself. Shakar Quote
Kynok Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I love it! Most definatlly the best set of this year. I'd be courious as to what the box art will look like, with all four of the characters in it. Maybe they will all be in seperate boxes? Like the Toa Hagah two-pack. Quote
Shakar Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I guess that if they make a big box they'll be able to fit everything on it (speaking of box art). Most likely inside the box there will be 4 bags of pieces, one for each figure (including the....thing). Karzahni does look quite big...some say that he looks too short, but that's because his legs are bent. A good front pic of him with legs extended will do him more justice. Shakar Quote
Darkness Falls Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I'm thinking it's a trap that utilizes the 2004 function for Titans. The bend axles can be seen, and I think it snaps in. Who knows? All I can say is, Three sets for the price of one is great in my book. A must buy, for quality, number of pieces, and sets alone. Quote
Kynok Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I really don't like the green color scheme. We've already had Nocturn in green. Oh well. I guess this is what we get for introducing him in the storyline befroe we did as a set. Quote
Visorak-kal Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 At last, a set reminiscent of the 2004-2005 Titans! No more with the one-piece body easily visible (unless they hid it in there...)! A trap with hopefully a function! And two great Mahri Matoran, which is always a pleasure. I agree with those on the Takadox claws; they could have been skipped. Overall, a great set, and possibly a buy for me. (I have to see the first Toa with vehicle first, then decide on my Titans for this year.) Oh, and Karzahni travels to Mahri Nui this year, so the reason he is without a mask is because he got mutated like everybody else. In fact, I recall GregF confirming that Karzahni does get mutated this year, and he also said we would see what he looked like when he mutated (now we know why...) VK Quote
Darkness Falls Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Maxilos, This, and perhaps the Seventh Toa are all on my list. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Holy Crap! That things awesome! That thing is well designed (although I don't know what the heck it is) and the Matoran are very cool in peices and design. I love Karzahni though! He's very evil looking, has lots of good peices and has a awesome weapon thingamajig. Good job Lego! -ZotS Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 No thanks. Please, take it away. It burns. Quote
Darkness Falls Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 No thanks. Please, take it away. It burns. The very same thing I want to say about this topic now that you've posted in it. Hey, at least he doesn't have hole in his construction, right? Because I know you hate that. Don't take my insults so seriously, man! Quote

Kahgarak Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 A.B. See here. Hmmm,i don't think the thing is a medical droid,but rather a trap X-D Quote
optimus-convoy Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Looks pretty good, I like Karzahni in all of his freakish mutantness. There's some good part usage in there. The Matoran look cute, I just wonder why they chose to use Vakama's mask in red again. :-| Nice to see Whenua's in blue though. That other medical droid-trap-thing seems rather pointless... except for the parts. Looks like a buy overall. *y* Quote
dviddy Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 The very same thing I want to say about this topic now that you've posted in it. After all, no one should ever deviate from the norm! Grow up, and lay off the personal affrontage, here, and on BZP. You don't have to throw insults to make your point. You like it. Yay for you. Enjoy yourself. <<DV>> Quote
Zane Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 Hm, I'm going off Karzahni a bit now that I look closer. Piraka body kills it, really. Along with the wide hips. The Matoran are still really good though. Quote

I love it when you at least back your arguments with reasons, because you make good points. But that post was just a flat-out, somewhat noobish statement. Besides, what's wrong with poking fun at you a little? :) Just commenting on your overall dislike towards all 2007 sets. Why didn't you give a reason this time? Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I heard some people saying that the blue Matoran is actually black... they're wrong. You can see some trans - blue ball joint connecters if you look closesly. -ZotS Quote

Besides, what's wrong with poking fun at you a little? :)Just commenting on your overall dislike towards all 2007 sets. Why didn't you give a reason this time? He's poorly built, and uses some of the same techniques I grew bored with last year (the lower legs, specifically). MOCers did the Hordika head thighs a long time ago, and I didn't like it then, and I don't know. The colors are messy, two-tone pieces suck. His head looks terrible, and is in no way befitting the character description (personality, not looks) we were given. The hands are bulbous and odd looking, and what's with the Takadox blades on the chest? He looks fat and stout, and not in a cool way. Plus, the whole 'mutated' thing is clearly another story excuse for something that doesn't match what we were told to begin with. It's a mess. <<DV>> Quote
