edsmith0075 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Working on the modern TTX Piggy back car. I loved seeing a "Pig" train growing up so I wanted to try and recreate one for my lego trains. Feedback always appreciated :-) IMG_1187[1] by Edsmith0075, on Flickr IMG_1188[1] by Edsmith0075, on Flickr IMG_1189[1] by Edsmith0075, on Flickr IMG_1190[1] by Edsmith0075, on Flickr Quote
dundarach Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Wow like that, not sure we have them in the UK however, not sure my layout is based on anything....might have to pinch that idea :-) Quote
Lego Otaku Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I've seen them a few times, but rarely in Michigan (USA). I'm more likely top see a trailer frame and removable cargo boxes in 2 sizes similar to the cargo train set and Maersk set LEGO released a few years ago. In Flint near the intersection of I-17 and I-69 there's usually huge gathering of train cars next to auto factories. Quote
Bamos Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Very nice Impact Car Edsmith. I have been have been playing with this idea also but had to cut the trailer size down because it was bigger than the locomotive pulling it. Bill. Quote
dr_spock Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Looks good. I remember seeing TTX cars in the Boston area. Are you going to build as many as you can? Quote
ronenson Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Very nice transport car. We don't see these in the Netherlands, and probably not even in Europe, but I like 'm anyway. Quote
edsmith0075 Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 Thanks for the feedback! These cars are not as common as they use to be back in the 90's. Now you see the cargo container cars. Which I love build also. I might build another of these but my next project is boxcars, just looking for advice to start on these. I want more realistic boxcars, The lego ones are to short, I love the high cube boxcars! Quote
