Scorpiox Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk...t-arts-24697765 Today, 1960s and 70s American rock legend Lou Reed passed away, at the age of 71. As well as being part of the first true Alternative band, Reed directly influenced many rock artists such as his good friend, David Bowie. I've been a massive fan of his work, both in the Velvet Underground and as a solo artist, for donkeys years now - and it certainly hit me hard to read this news today. This was a complete shock for me and very upsetting. Lou Reed has gone to a special place in Rock 'n' Roll Heaven, up there with Lennon, Harrison, Moon, Bolan, Hendrix, Bonham and Mercury. Farewell to a great man, who has left us with a huge legacy and impact on music that will never fade. I'll leave you with this, because it says pretty much what I'm trying to get across. Rest in Peace. Quote
