legomania94 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 how can I make the clamp del'escavatore 42006 in pneumatic version? Quote
Junpei Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I don't know, how can you? It can't be that hard, pneumatic cylinders are nearly the same dimensions as LA's, just switch them out I would guess. I don't have a 42006 to test it though. Quote
schermvlieger Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I converted the clamp itself to pneumatic operation and transplanted it onto the Unimog. Works okay but the small la gives much more grabbing power. Lots of fun opening and closing it though, as it makes a cool sound when it snaps shut. It reminds me of sea creatures somehow. :-) Will try to make a picture tomorrow; it's a simple enough operation. For the boom and dipper i would use two cylinders each, in serial to extend the range of motion. Quote
legomania94 Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 okkey thank you tomorrow then put the photo to show that you came out? Quote
legomania94 Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 so much stuff really nice :) but that piston did you use? because I have the normal one you usually use Quote
schermvlieger Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 it uses the same, small piston. these are pictures i made some time ago; i'll try to make a couple more tonight with the grabber partly disassembled if the above are not clear enough. Happy bricking :-) Quote
legomania94 Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 is not perfect, do not worry because even I do not understand only the small piston that big but basic! there way to do it with that? :) Quote
Junpei Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Does the small piston have enough power to actually grab on to something? Quote
legomania94 Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 I think so! I did it with the big one and I think it's great using it with sawdust and Zorex * - * Quote
schermvlieger Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I'd like to see some pictures of the clamp with a large cylinder. Quote
Pat-Ard Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 @schermvlieger: your Unimog looks interesting. Do you have any more pictures? Thanks. Quote
legomania94 Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 I'm glad :) I improve it and then try to put some pictures is that I never put the photo so I have to learn: S Quote
legomania94 Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 I ordered the last pieces to make even the pneumatic system on the excavator "Zorex" as soon as I finish everything I try to put photos :) Quote

schermvlieger Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Looks very promising legomania! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your work! Quote
legomania94 Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 thanks for the compliments I also can not wait :) Quote
jantjeuh Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Looks good, but the white balance in your photos seems a bit off Quote
legomania94 Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 thanks :) I did not understand what you mean by painting Quote
legomania94 Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 hello, I expect that come the last pieces to make the arm and place the photos :) Quote
TinkerBrick Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 The pneumatic rams in legomania94s claw are not painted. The white balance of the picture didn't match the lighting. I built schermvlieger's claw with the small pneumatic cylinder the other day. I attached it to my unimog and added a second degree of freedom. Works great so far. It is a nice addition to the set of unimog tools. Quote
legomania94 Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 what is wrong with my crab? also my works to perfection! Quote
TinkerBrick Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Your claw is just fine. TwentyLeggedHen thought the rams were painted since the photo didn't reproduce the actual colors correctly i suppose. By the way - how strong is your claw using a large pneumatic piston? Quote
