Zilcho Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) Hey, I'm interested in making a brick flick. Since I'm not aiming to make a masterpiece, I'm going to use my iPhone 5 as it has a decent camera and I don't want to buy a new one. Are there any apps which overlay the previous image, as that would make the process much easier. Also does anyone know any good voice recording apps I can use to record my voice and the transfer to my of where I can edit that recording and the pictures together to make the brick flick. I also would like to include sound effects for thin a such as, gun shots, cars etc. - does anyone know a good free source for these effects? Thanks! Edited October 23, 2013 by Zilcho Quote
Andy D Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 If you are going to try to not only record the video on your iPhone, but also edit the video... I find iMovie to be a good IOS video editor and it includes much of what you want. Free sound effects are built-in and others can be found by searching (Google is your friend). I never tried to record a voice over, but you should be able to record your voice then add it in during the editing process. I found many good tutorial videos on YouTube for editing with iMovie for IOS. You can do all this and more with iMovie for Mac OS X, also, I believe MovieMaker for Windows OS should have many of he same features. When I was trying to learn more about video editing I used Google and found lots of helpful info on YouTube. I hope this helps... Andy D Quote
seaotter71 Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 when I started I used an app called "stop motion." It has the onion skin/overlay feature you are looking for, you can export the photos (they can be a memory hog) and also has a timer feature that helps reduce shake from manually taking the picture. Holler if you have any other questions. I'm not an expert but happy to help. Good luck Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I use an app called "Stop Motion Studio." It's 99 cents but it's a really good app, has adjustable onion skin. Quote
jluck Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Im in the same boat with you. I filmed a video on my ipad using a app called frameograph which has onion skinning and several options. It was well worth the 5 bucks. But the best investment was the tripod holder. Here are the results....ok for a first try. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=87152 Quote
Darkdragon Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I used Stop Motion Studio last night for a short test and it was very nice. The basic app is free (when I downloaded it last night), but says free is "for a limited time". They have in-app purchases/upgrades which I don't find too horrible in this case because it lets me pick and choose what features to add instead of paying for everything when I dont need much of it. You can make a movie with just the free version of the app and it has onion-skinning and all that. I do recommend it. Quote
