IR Receivers

Hi guys, I have two IR receivers, one V1 and one V2, and for the [TRIPLE] contest I'm making two RC models. One will have a Servo and XL Motor, and the other will have two L motors and one M motor, so my question is, which IR receiver should I use with each setup, as I know if you put too many motors on one it blows, however the V2 blows under slightly more load if I recall correctly. Sorry if this makes no sense

That's what I thought too, but Jim not 100% sure and don't want to break one of my parts

Only V2 can handle 2 L motors at the same time. It has a slightly more efficient design and higher limit for motors, and L motor draws a lot more than XL or any other PF motors.

It won't permanently damage the IR receivers if you put too much on them; they have current (or thermal, not sure which) limiters built in, so the only effect is that your creation will slow down after some operation. Pretty sure all of Lego's recent motors have limiters as well.

Actually both, included in the motor driver chips.

Indeed, all use auto-resettable thermal fuses.
