Prince Manic Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I was gonna order myself that Back to the Future Delorean set of LEGO CUUSOO but that can later on in the future but here's the catch if I ordered something it's all the way from denmark and when my order is shipped it goes to Strykow if I done standard shipping? Must be where they give it to DHL for deilvery for the USA (for which is also for Pick a brick from the store too) as for me that's like about 1,000 feet away! How long it will take to get from there to the US? I'm waiting for my order of picked bricks needed for a extreme makeover of the Lone Ranger Locomotive I felt that needed changes in it's detailing. I wished I could had gone to beachwood or Columbus, Ohio LEGO Stores but I wished there was at Kamm's Plaza though and use the pick a brick wall to get what I need...so this is my temp soultion for now and wait like about one week for it to be here. Off the wall Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 From the time I order my pick a brick stuff, to the time it's delivered to my house in the USA, is usually 10 to 11 calendar days. That's been pretty consistent. Quote

Seems pretty long to get here if only LEGO wasn't in Demark and was a US based Company then it would had been like only about 4 days for what I gotten from there to my location. Quote
Off the wall Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 (edited) Well, lego gives it to DHL and DHL transfers it to the USPS for delivery. If I wanted BTTF fast, I'd order through Amazon. They have it in stock and if I ordered today, I'd have it Tuesday with free shipping via an Amazon prime membership. $34.99 from Amazon. No VIP lego points, but we're not talking about a big purchase where you lose hundreds of points. If I buy a set from Lego.com, it's shipped from their distribution center near Memphis, TN and I have it in a few days after ordering. Pick a brick is a much longer journey and requires some patience. Edited October 5, 2013 by Off the wall Quote

Well if I did want one fast I'll have to go back in time to order one XD - I wished Toys R us and other stores sold CUUSOO Sets so I can get my hands on them, with the Time Machine Doc and Marty would be great to use since I own the Lone Ranger Locomotive then I could build a mini Delorean Part 3 railroad version by using Pick a Brick a again but with the colors they have and I'll have to somehow get that motor for a train and use those wheels for the car itself or use a certain rim for it. Off the wall Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Well, good luck with all of that. Pick a brick for me is pretty consistent in delivery times. But, patience, patience, patience. :-) Quote
TGB Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Pick a brick has always been consistent for me. Well within the 15-18 days they state. If I need something quick, I'll source it out on BL. If I can wait, PAB. Before I discovered BL, I would place an order on PAB, wait for it to come in, realize I needed something else, place another order and wait. With BL I can usually get my orders all in before I would get one PAB order. Quote
dr_spock Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Speed of BrickLink depends on the individual store. Some are faster than others. Still faster than Pick A Brick orders. Quote
Chocolatecake Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Well... My order at S@H wasn't shippet from somewhere in Germany and the servicecenter that took my order was placed in England. So I would be surprised if I get your box of lego sent from Denmark Quote

I'm not with you here 2) No shipping out during the weekends. I haven't heard of people working at the warehouse during the weekends, at least here in DK and I guess it's the same in the countries in the European Union. Quote

That's what it said when I used Siri to see what time is there and Amsterdam is the same time as Strykow Poland - if only LEGO had an option that you can pay a fee to have it sent out during the weekends so it gets to ya faster. Another Thing if it says Shipping Tendered does it mean the shipping has been paid and on it's way or something? if I remembered I had a case ordered years ago for my Numark MixTrack Pro and it said Billing Info. Recevied so if I'm correct this is meaning they get my billing info to get it shipping out if so I expect it to update with Origin Scan or whatever DHL uses to when it comes in the US. ShaydDeGrai Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I usually try to avoid anything that needs to be shipped over from Europe as Amazon (for sets) and Bricklink (for parts) are usually cheaper and often have as little as a 2-3 (business) day turn around time, but on those rare occasions when I had to resort to Official Lego PAB web orders (because Bricklink couldn't handle the volume without splitting the order over a score of venders and I didn't want to deal with that hassle) I've found that it seems to take forever (okay, maybe two full weeks or so, it just feels like forever when you're tracking your package twice a day hoping for progress) to get the package _to_ the US, but once it makes it to US shores, I get it within a day or two. I don't know where the bottleneck is (packaging robots in an automated factory running MS Vista that need to be manually rebooted every few hours? drug sniffing dogs at customs that think ABS smells like cocaine? DHL reviving transatlantic blimp traffic as its carrier of choice? who knows...) but I do take comfort in finally seeing a US location on the tracking log because once it's past US customs it's virtually on my doorstep. Candians are weird ABS doesn't smell like it at all So they're weird for thinking a lot of things smells like drugs like Packing Peanuts Well this is my first time getting these so I'm doing a extreme mod to the Lone Ranger Locomotive it feels it's needing some changes to be more like a locomotive. According to LEGO: For LEGO Pick a Brick, please allow up to 15 business days (Monday through Friday excluding holidays) for delivery. - I'm like really? why not shorten that if I have a certain amount of Bricks and ship it to me faster oh like 5 to 10 business days it's not that hard to ship a small amount I need to use. Off the wall Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Given the nominal shipping cost on pick a brick shipments from Poland to the USA, I have to imagine that DHL consolidates these small shipments into one larger one for transport to the USA before tendering them to the proper US postal facility for final delivery. I suppose Lego could overnight the bricks to me, but I probably wouldn't like the cost of that service. Quote
