This is a game made by CDV entertainment. It's a World War II strategy game. Kind of like Empire at War. Only a few differences. You start each mission in HQ, and you can set your XP level before the match. You can buy tanks, anti-tank guns, howitzers, tank hunters, self-propelled guns, ammo/repair/tow trucks, infantry, and armored cars. In Phase 1, the first edition, you can be the Germans, the Allies, or the Russians. In Phase 2, you can be the Axis, (Italians added for the Afrika Corps) the Allies, or the Russians. The campaigns stay with the same characters throughout the war. Phase 1: Hans von Grobel is a German officer. In the beginning, he goes around in an armored car. Eventually, he gets a Panzer 3. Then a 4, but he doesen't get a Panther, a 5. In the end, he gets a Tiger. Not a Konigstiger, that is, a King Tiger. Alexander Vladimiriov is a Russian officer who goes around in an armored car also. Then he gets a T-34, and so on. Jeffrey S. Wilson is an American officer who sports a yellow sweatshirt, a jolly-good Pershing, and a fat cigar. James Barnes is a British paratrooper who sports a Red Beret, a camo outfit, and a jolly-good Sten gun. Phase 2: Back to von Grobel. He's back, and in Afrika. He has two Italian friends, Sergio and his brother whom I forgot. They have Italian tanks which I somewhat forgot. Sergio gets captured, and his brother exchanges him for James Barnes, recently captured. The Allied campaign is Wilson and Barnes. Strangely enough, Wilson looks much younger. Eventually, you get to use 'Anzio Annie', a nasty railway gun. Then comes the Partisan campaign. The partisans are Yugoslavian, and their leader is Wolf. I haven't really finished it, but Alex Vladimiriov is in it. The Cold War: Soon to be released in late 07, this game covers *you said it* The Cold War! From the 7 SS, I can tell you there will be helicopters, bigger bunkers, and deadlier tanks. Comments appreciated.

Oh look ... another WW2 game thats already been done 1000 times already.

I honestly dont think that the video game industry is aware that there were other conflicts besides WW2. I would love to see a WW1, Vietnam, modern, late 1800s/Colonial Era or Korean War RTS game instead of just producing the same game over and over with different names. How many times can you storm Omaha Beach, the Belgian forest or the streets of Stalingrad?

Well, WWII was one of the biggest wars of Modern History, numbering way more deaths than WWI. Plus, there are many references we can use in WWII rather than WWI. For example, photographs, and even video cameras. Color was also introduced during WWII. So, there is alot to do with WWII because it's, recent, big, and lot's and lot's of references.

Also, WWI was a really boring war, if I recall correctly it was called "The Still War".

The soldiers was prettey much just lying in the trenches shooting at each other. :-|

Boring. :-P

are you kidding me? WWI was far worse than WW2, in terms of military activity/misery... battles with a million people all doing different jobs, regiments completely shot to pieces in their first contact with the enemy, fighting in between ruined villages and cities, in muddy grounds, millions of fire granates, bombs, machine guns, crappy tanks, cavalry, a war underground when soldiers tried to dig tunnels to the other side,.... Where do you think the notion "shell shock" comes from? what do you think? that all these soldiers where silently sleeping in their trenches, waiting for some sunny weather to get up and fight? The difference is that the battle field wasn't global, it was basically limited to the european/russian continent, but the intensity of the war has never been greater than 1914-1918. even d-day wasn't all that huge compared to the major battles of WWI...

the problem with WWI is that it never got media/hollywood attention of WWII, most of all because the US was hardly involved, so nobody in the media industry really cared, but honestly, the crap of the trenches in flanders and the mess in the French forest at the Somme was far worse than the battle of the bulge, not only in terms of scale, but also in misery

i'm not sure if it's called "the still war", but i do know it was called "the great war"

Mehhh, all the others are 1st person shooters. I myself want to see a WW1 game, but CDV has already announced plans for CP: The Cold War like I said. Other than my describations, I can't see much more. I guess since no one has a 1st person shooter for WW1, (or is there?)I don't see a WW1 version. ChrisF, no one has ever before made a WW2 RTS that I know of. I DO want all of those games you mentioned, and Age of Empires 3 covers the Colonial era. Oh wait, Sudden Strike. That one was more limited, though. I never really got the hang of it. IS is right, it was bigger than 1. I just wonder what could be different about it. There would be less tank fighting, more infantry fighting, more buildings, and more less of everything. I just searched through 83 pages of results after typing in WW1: The Still war and couldn't find a thing. I think that was a rumor that died. Maybe there are some British WW1 games. Anyhow, I guess the reason more 2 games were made was because the USA was more involved.

I didn't say there was no deaths, just that WWI had no moving fronts (sorry if you got me totally wrong). :-P

I quite do understand. It wouldn't be a war if there were no deaths. Like the Reolutionary war. Redcoats and Americans in a line firing muskets like two firing squads executing each other.
