mikezang Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I want to create train locomotive with transparent front window (slope or not), but I am not very good at building train model itself, where can I find such instructions so that I can combine such design to my train? By the way, transparent front is used to communicate by IR easier. Thanks for your suggestion. Quote

mikezang Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 you could replace this part with this part: Images from brickilink.com Maybe I didn't talk clearly. To my purpose, both parts are ok because first part has open or glass window. I want to build variable locomotives with open or transparent front windscreen in different format. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Hum... might be easier if you could show a picture of what you have in mind for shape and then say something like, "just like this, but I'd want the blue piece to be transparent". On a side note, I've used the train windshield to hide an IR receiver, it works, but it becomes hard to control when the train is not coming at you. Not a deal if you want to set the train running but a potential hassle if you want to use it for switching. Quote

Sure, here it is on the PennLug layout at Brickworld (I love those wide radius curves) and you can read more about it in RailBricks 10. Oh, and only the front engine is powered at the moment. Quote
