Scorpiox Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I'd have to say 'Specific'. The latest line just doesn't interest me as much as previous lines - there's just nothing new or quirky about them in my view. Named characters and the very least, a vague storyline, seems to carry with it the possibility for more interesting sets. Right now by keeping Castle Generic, it keeps Castle from stepping into the toes of LOTR. Once the Hobbit and LOTR are finished, though, I could see them making more specific a theme out of it again... I can only pray that this doesn't happen for many, many years. Quote
ThatLegoBrick Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 If you're an AFOL then your obviously into building MOCs so GENERIC of course Quote

Ardelon Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I voted generic, since I appreciate versatility, diversity, and, well, "generic-ness" in a theme and its factions. Theme-specific factions push the individuality of the figs and the good/evil divisons too far for my taste. I don't mind if the nameless soldiers are all the same, that's Castle as I remember it. Or maybe it's just my disappointment with KK1 (which was pretty cool faction-wise, but was missing generic soldiers) and KK2 (which I frankly dislike - the character-driven aspect, the colors and aesthetics, the brick-built creatures, etc.). All other System themes I would call generic, as a few unique royal/magical characters (or even a few named characters, like Majisto, Basil the Bat lord, Willa the witch) don't make the theme "specific", IMO. I'd like to add that like some other posters, I also miss the days when new factions were added to the old ones and enriched the Castle universe, as opposed to the current practice where each new theme is self-contained. I wonder why TLG went this way? Quote
