Brickedin Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Here is my first modular MOC. Based on Cafe De Prins in the Jordaan district of Amsterdam. Has special meaning as it is where i asked my wife to marry me. It consists of the bar/restaurant on the ground floor with an apartment above. All feedback welcome. I would be interested to know what people do about custom stickers and decals as i would like to add detail to the sign outside. Full set on Flickr Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Wonderful modular with a sweet story......she said yes, I take it ! Great interior designing there too......Brick On 'Brickdein' ! Quote
Kristel Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 This is fantastic! The facade is really great, particularly how you've represented the lower half. The apartment is also packed with great details, my favourites being the breakfast bar and the deck chair on the balcony. It's hard to believe this is your first MOC modular building. I'm looking forward to seeing more like this! Quote
eurotrash Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Great interior! I really like the bar area although the kitchen and living room upstairs also deserve praise. Good job and thanks for sharing it with us. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 This is great. Very fitting to the source material. The only difference I would make is on the front facade, above the centered door/window, is have a black grill brick there instead of the white grill brick. But that than that, spot on! The interior is really well done too. I love the apartment, very well done. I may have to borrow some ideas for furniture building for my Modular I'm working on. Quote
Ralph Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Nicely done, love the detail work inside the building. -Ralph Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Very nice story and great MOC. Congrats!! Quote
kermit Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 The interior is fantastic especially the bar area. Quote
Brickedin Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Thanks everyone, i am pretty pleased with interior and ground floor. i actually think the upper stories look boring but so does the original. I intend to update the roof section when i can get back to Amsterdam and get a decent image, so that may liven it up a bit. Wonderful modular with a sweet story......she said yes, I take it ! Great interior designing there too......Brick On 'Brickdein' ! Thanks, and she did say yes. Would be a weird build if she said no! This is great. Thanks i will try that, dark bley would probably be even better! Just noticed the grill bricks are the wrong way round..... doh Quote
TheBear Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 This is excellent, I particularly like the bar. I would have been tempted to make it 24 studs wide instead of 32, but maybe you made it wider on purpose to fit in more interior so feel free to ignore me. I feel like the upper floors could do with being a bit taller. Quote
Wodanis Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Really cool! I liked your balcony and the kitchen design. Always good to design something you are passionate about. Quote
