Hi everybody. I build another MOC in the last days and wanted to share the result with you.

Is is nothing special, but I like it.

The whole truck is exactly 100 cm long (trailer is 66 cm).

The truck is motorized with power functions, it has one XL motor for driving and one M motor for steering. For a better steering I have attached a worm gear.

It seems, that I only build log trucks :-) Enjoy the pictures and let me know, what you think...

@ skppo

thanks, you are right. I also thought about, but only after I finished it...

@ SheepEater

Also thanks! I build it from two 8285s and some extra parts left from my 9397 moc.

Hi, ilike ur build very much. Just one question ...how come you did not provide a differential and drive to the second axle of the truck? I like the way you have done the trailer..any chance of some detail pictures from underneath? Well done, i have a couple of these models and you have given me insperation to do something with them now. Cheers Pete.

Thanks for all your feedback.

@squizz

I will take a few pictures from underneath of the trailer, maybe this evening if I have time!

In regards to the differential. There is a differential on the second axle. Or do you mean on the 3rd axle? Anyway I have to modify the 2nd and 3rd axle of the truck a bit with the 'modern' differential because the small gears attached currently don't work pretty good.

Hi, as promised here are the pictures from underneath. Sorry for the quality, these are only cell phone pics:

Thanks, I did buy 6 of them originally, though some parts were sold thru my BL store at the time, but I have more than replaced those sold now. Nearly all of my sets are built, I store them in 60l and 80l storage containers.

6 times 8285 , thats crazy :-)

I have modified my truck a bit. And took a photo with my 42009 to show the size of the trailer. But the 42009 is definitely to heavy for it :-)

Yes, the trailer is strong bending under the weight from the 42009. But you can reach more stability by using studded technic bricks. Or you look in the instructions form Designer Han's detachable lowloader: http://www.designer-han.nl/lego/

There you can see he had the same problem to solve.

Your trailer looks very good, surely you'll find the motivation to modify ist for more stability;). I have the plan to build the Lowloader from Designer Han, I'll test the stability, and maybe I find an another solution to get more stabilitiy to the trailer.

I have the idea to put long metal axles through the pin holes from the bricks, but first I have to find them with exact thickness like technic axles.

Another solution ist a pair of wheels in the middle, but I don't think if it comes good to the trailer design....

Greetings

Alex

Looks Great, next step is chrome;-)

The price I got them for was a crazy price, 50% off retail, couldnt let that pass.

haha, you are so right :-)

Thanks for the addresses. I have already ordered some chromed parts. I will post pics, when they are on the truck:-)

So. I have already installed some chromed parts and wanted to share the pics with you. I am now just waiting for my chromed wheels....

I believe it is finished then, so I need a new project :-)

Nice job with the chrome so far, ed-orange. I especially like how the engine, smokestacks, and mirrors turned out. Won't the chrome on the gears rub off if you run the motor though? :sceptic:
