SkaForHire Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Well spotted, I always understood that as part of Nocturnus. I think there's a plan by Kaliphlin to take over the whole of Historica. Well, it was once all ours anyway, maybe we just let you guys live on the continent nowadays? Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Well, it was once all ours anyway, maybe we just let you guys live on the continent nowadays? Heh. There were others before you. And others will come after you. There are thousands of dead who attest to this. I however, am eternal, and shall be here long after your bones have been ground into dust. All shall be dust in the end. Fear me, for I shall see the end of all things, and only then know death. When you Kaliphlins can think beyond how much gold you can get out of a situation, threaten me again. For now, your hollow words do little. Quote
Mike S Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Any more thoughts from the Council? Any alternative orc land boundary propositions? Quote
Gideon Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Any more thoughts from the Council? Any alternative orc land boundary propositions? A buffer zone between the unrest in Nocturnus and our strategically important fort on top of the only passage up onto the Great Escarpment sounds like a good concession which might benefit both sides. Kaliphlin gets additional protection against the unrest spilling our way and the orcs get a piece of land with great communications to both Kaliphlin, Mitgardia and their brethren in Nocturnus. As I recall it, the foothills of the Rakath Mountains is a quite fertile part of the land (by Kaliphlin standards at least) but relatively sparsely populated place. I do not however know what the locals think about accepting orcish rule? Quote
NiceMarmot Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I think this is probably a good place for the orcs. Perhaps they should be mostly in the foothills of the mountains, venturing out onto the plains only to harass the occasional Avalonian caravan? I'm not sure they should have control of where the Qarkyr road meets the escarpment, but allowing them to interrupt it occasionally might be interesting. Another decent spot for them would be the northern parts of the Westersands desert, between the Arkbri River and the Wither Woods. From there they could easily raid the southern parts of Avalonia. Just reminds me that I've really got to get new versions of the maps out soon! Quote
Gideon Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Just reminds me that I've really got to get new versions of the maps out soon! Looking forward to it! We should really get a name settled and put on that map for the mentioned fortress-town along the road north of Qarkyr atop the great escarpment by the way. Quote
robuko Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 (edited) I would suggest from a strategic perspective to accept their claim as far as the bottom of the Great Escarpment, but not the highlands as the fortress town has already been claimed by Da Maximus. That sounds like a fair and prudent arrangement to me. Quote
NiceMarmot Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 ...not the highlands as the fortress town has already been claimed by Da Maximus. It has? Seems like a pretty good location. Maybe we should reserve it for someone who joins later? Damaximus already has Mpya Stedor and Everlast. DM - what do you want to use it for? Could you instead build out a town near Mpya Stedor for the same purpose? But if you really want it for a good purpose, I'm cool with that too. There are plenty of unbuilt areas on the map... Quote

Maxim I Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I agree with the proposition made to the Orc's and they can indeed claim those lands if that is the price for their alledgiance! Great Moc Masa! Also awesome soldiers! Quote
Mike S Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 Cardinal Sophocles met once again with Brunak the orc leader who accepted the revisions and is now on his way to Petraea to make an appearance on the Council. Here is the map revision and I consider this matter now closed. Historica Orc Lands by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Quote
