BigDaddy Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I came up with an idea for a little container, using the large (Jack Stone) trans-clear panel piece - it's called a MOCBox, and here are a few: The MOCBox is very easy to make, and is also quite versatile. It can be made to stand on its own, lean like a picture frame, or even hang on a wall. By varying the orientation and depth of the MOCBox, you can create your own design, and decorate it to your liking. In these examples, I have made micro-scenes, artwork, and vignettes as MOCBoxes, even decorating the exteriors on a few. The last one also shows how you can combine MOCBoxes to form a larger one, much like a vignette. It's a very cool way to display your minifigs, rare parts, etc. (Maybe one of you can use the technique to make a nice jewelry box for someone you luv!) *wub* I also used the same large panel piece to make this small Aquarium: Anyway, I hope these will inspire you to give it a try. Enjoy! Quote
Starwars4J Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 This definitely has inspired me! What a fantastic use of a piece that I wasn't aware of :-P I'll need to find some on BL now. I do plan on eventually making a "museum" of sorts out of my rarer parts, and this will work perfectly for display! Also, it seems perfect for displaying those favorite MF you might have, but want to protect. Thanks for sharing this! Quote
Asuka Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Brilliant. Lovely. And inspiring too. Great work! *y* I especially like your The Hunt, Snack Time, Jupiter and Neighbors.... very beautiful stuff. Quote
simonwillems Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 That's a brilliant idea! I saw your MOC boxes on Brickshelf and thought you were using some kind of non-lego cover, but now I see it actually has a lego print on it. Finally there is a positive thing to say about the Jack Stone-line. I think the "Snack Time"-one is my favorite. :-) Quote
Brainbox Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Anyway, I hope these will inspire you to give it a try. They have, and I most certainly will. They're great btw. I've had one of these for a while now, from the Spiderman Origins set, and never actually used it. I've had a few ideas, but not pursued them. But this I'll try. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 there brilliant *y* , my favourite ones are the niehbour and aquarium ones *y* *y* *y* *y* *y* out of *y* *y* *y* *y* *y* Quote
Wobo Ihi Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I don't think I've ever seen this piece before. Interesting... I should defiantly try this some time. :-) Quote
Brainbox Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Anyway, I hope these will inspire you to give it a try. They did. Brickshelf Gallery Eurobricks thread (MOC 2) Quote
zeki Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I like this MOCboxes. They look to me like they are something special, like that...the content has a hige collector's value. Nice job! Quote
MatthewUSA Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I would definitly agree. These MOCboxes are very creative. They all look really cool. What a way to use the Jack Stone parts. Maybe someone from the Lego company will see these and you could be given some sort of payment for the idea. That would be really *sweet* . Very unique, model on. Quote
Scouty Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 These are very nice. In fact, I do think I have that piece in a light blue color somewhere in my collection. I got it so I could put it under a black light, but perhaps I could use it for one of these now! Quote
