Starwars4J Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 This was such a pathetically small custom, that I don't think it really deserves its own topic, but I couldn't find another one of mine to combine it with. And I figure other people might like to try it. Anyway, here it is: Really easy to make, and I think it improves the look a lot. And because of the depression where the paint goes, it doesn't come off easily when a fig holds it. It's really simple too. First just take a fine brush, and coat the entire handle in a very thin layer of the paint. Then simple take a piece of tissue, and gently wipe off the excess paint. As long as you're not pressing on the handle, it should remove all the paint on the raised surfaces while leaving it in the crevasses. Quote
exo attack Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Cool, I like it. I wonder if you could do vice versa with the golden katanas in the sentai golden fortress set. Quote
Vader Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Looking good SW4J, it makes the handle stand out a whole lot more. I too would like to see this used on the golden katanas, perhaps adding silver to them would look good. Quote

Like I said, it's a simple little technique (which I need to edit into the first post :-D) which can help the sort of bland monotone sword look just a bit cooler. Silver or black on the golden katanas is a great idea (especially since we'll be getting 4 of them in one set!) Quote
Asuka Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Hmmm.... Golden katanas, silver.... and red. *wub* Quote
