gwurst Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I've been building several other mini modular buildings I've found to go with the official ones, but I needed an inside corner building to connect them on a display shelf. There are very few examples I had found, but this one gave me some inspirational ideas: http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnparilla/9177527753/lightbox/ Using LDD I designed what I feel is a decent first attempt at an inside-corner building: Nothing spectacular. The back is very flat and probably not stylistically related to the front, but it gets the job done. I should have all the bricks needed so I'll try to build it tonight or tomorrow. 317 bricks according to LDD. Inside Modular.lxf Quote
dvsntt Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 It looks like an Italian or Spanish courtyard. Very nice. Quote
Overcold Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 That's really nice looking and the concept is wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing how the non LDD version looks. Looks like it would also make a good full scale modular building. Quote

Maybe someone else can try it or I might see what I can do eventually. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Nice mini modular 'gwurst', and just give a full scale one a crack......start at the bottom and work your way up using your mini as a model.....increase it's size in the right proportions. Brick On LDD On 'gwurst' ! Quote
gwurst Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 I went-ahead and built it. I didn't have any of the arches in tan, but otherwise had the correct parts. I used some black 1 x 4 arches for now and since I had no 1 x 3 arches at all used straight pieces. It REALLY needs the correct arches. Once I order the correct parts from Bricklink I'll fix it. Any way, I took some pictures so you can get a real-world look: Quote
pillpod Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) I like it. I built one in LDD a few months back. It's a difficult task because it has a larger footprint so it becomes a focal point in a street lineup. I think your's looks nice. Here's mine. Similar styles. Great minds think alike? :) http://www.flickr.co...lla/9177527753/ BTW, when I posted that, someone suggested I add one more brick layer to the first floor. I did that but haven't updated the flickr picture. Edited September 28, 2013 by pillpod Quote
