tibivi Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 hey'all, I know this isn't a normal topic, but anyway; here it is, what do you think is the best technic moc video in case off music in relation to the videofootages? (What I mean is the editing of the music) or videos with good music Please post them here I'll start: This: and this: Enjoy this topic Greetings, tibivi Quote
piterx Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 i don't know....probably the sariel's one fits better...even if leaves me a little bit i usually pay attention to music while mounting the final sequence...and my criteria of choosing music is what the video should comunicate so usually if i make an offroad i prefer some country rock, or if i make a fast car i put something like electro... but it's only a matter of personal taste Quote
nicjasno Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) If you ask me, both are bad examples. This "epic" music score is very unfitting to those videos. I very much love the track piterx chose for his panda 4x4 (artist and title please btw... :) ) Edited September 3, 2013 by nicjasno Quote
nicjasno Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Thanks. I think the music should complement the video and model, not detract from it. And you nailed it. The videos tibivi posted, fail completly. To pull off such an "epic" sountrack, the video and editing need to follow it. And the model needs to be epic too. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) This is an interesting topic! And one that I think about a lot during the build, and one area I will really be trying to push the boundaries on. This is an awesome video, tho maybe not music, I guess a bit. I believe in my professional opinion that this video is the best edited ever made. I also agree that Piterx's video has great taste in music. :D Edited September 3, 2013 by Doc_Brown Quote
piterx Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 nice editing it has! and the music fits nicely too...it gives that sense of futuristic thing btw i agree with nicjasno...QUIT EPIC SOUNDTRACKS !!! ahahah Quote
nicjasno Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 The starcraft video also has a very well chosen soundtrack. :) Quote

And you nailed it. The videos tibivi posted, fail completly. To pull off such an "epic" sountrack, the video and editing need to follow it. And the model needs to be epic too. I agree with you, but I think in the video of the hot rod and Sariel's Zonda the music follows the car. But indeed, these are epic soundtracks Which other videos do you think are well mounted? This is an interesting topic! And one that I think about a lot during the build, and one area I will really be trying to push the boundaries on. This is an awesome video, tho maybe not music, I guess a bit. Thanks, that's a very good vid I also agree that Piterx's video has great taste in music. :D P.S.: does anyonre know the song in Sariel's video of the zonda? Quote
nicjasno Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Well... this one for example (yes, i know, it's mine, but i think the music also fits extremly well): Edited September 3, 2013 by nicjasno Quote
Doc_Brown Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Well... this one for example (yes, i know, it's mine, but i think the music also fits extremly well): That is a great example of fitting music and nice editing, building up to a finale. Quote
allanp Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Yeah, the epic scores don't really fit too well, or heavy metal which there seems to be alot of. I know what they were going for, but it doesn't work most of the time. It's not a MOC but this is I think is the most well done technic video with perfect music that is just epic enough in it's own way. Is that cheating Well... this one for example (yes, i know, it's mine, but i think the music also fits extremly well): Yes yes yes, that music is perfect. Edited September 3, 2013 by allanp Quote
nicjasno Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I'm sold. Where can i buy my new 8880? :) Quote
Blakbird Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Jurgen Krooshoop writes and records his own music for his MOC videos which I always found very impressive. I was in a heavy metal band when I was younger, but the music is not suitable for MOC videos! Quote

I was in a heavy metal band when I was younger, but the music is not suitable for MOC videos! Haha, I was also in a metal band and was actually thinking about putting a song on a video of mine, but I decided not to. I love music, but I can't for the life think about a music to be put under my videos. I personally loved the soundtrack of this Sariel video, I wouldn't listen to it but for this video, everything just fell into place and I felt the harmony with the universe (I'm not being sarcastic but sleepy as shit) Quote
Anio Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Well... this one for example (yes, i know, it's mine, but i think the music also fits extremly well): lol This is the kind of music we have in the menus of gran turismo video games ! ^^ Quote
allanp Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 You could always use some of mine, but it's more like standard rock music, not sure it would really fit well but it's a shameless plug anyway! https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/a-collection-of-experiences/id694935023 Quote
timslegos Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 This is the first video where I really tried to match the music well to what was going on in the video. What do you guys think? tim Quote
nicjasno Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Yeah, both sarials b-model video and timslegos crawler video have music that is well integrated. The music is ment to complement the action in the video, not be the main part of it. Some people forget that (cue the EPIC music :) ) Quote
piterx Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 i think i did my best on the fiesta's one Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Most of my videos have some trance or progressive track in the background....I don't really pick one,but just plays next. Quote
z3_2drive Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 @piterx, The Glitch Mob is great for everything I personally would go for electronic or rock, and electronic (being so many different types) needs to fit the MOC, like calm or fast. You can use pretty much anything as long as it fits the pace, lighting, or theme of the MOC and video. Here's a few great ones that I listen to http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Stay+Crunchy/4AYc7X?src= 5 http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Radio+Heart/4LxXAW?src=5 http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/The+Answer/2Oyga8?src=5 http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Let+s+Talk+About+It/1WiXPM?src=5 Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I try to match the music to the type of moc in some way, although, sometimes I think the music I pick is a bit dramatic (and some of the commentors agree ) Lately, I've been using music that I download from Audio Network. Everything is pre-approved for youtube use, so there isn't all the copyright stuff to deal with. Quote
nicjasno Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Piterx: very nice fiesta. :) I really need to buy a lego servo motor and make a small car aswell, and try to cram as much suspension stuff in it as i can :) Quote
