DrJB Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I have an LDR file, looks fine in MLCad, but when I load in LDD, it comes totally messed up. Any help on fixing this? Thanks! Quote
pbat Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Please have a look at this thread. And maybe you could elaborate on "totally messed up" by posting some images/screenshots and/or your LDR file. Quote
DrJB Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 Well, the file I was trying to convert is Bob Kojima's ball clock. The LDR file loads fine in LDraw, but when I import it in LDD many parts are totally misplaced, and many more are missing. Cannot load a pic on here yet. Quote
Classicsmiley Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 LDraw to LDD conversion (and vice verse) very seldom works 100% correctly. The part mapping is governed by a file called ldraw.xml, in the LDD directory. The version that is installed by LDD by default is quite lacking, so you need to make sure to get the most recent version from here: http://gallaghersart.com/page/new_ldd_parts_and_the_ldraw.xml/ . It's not a 100% solution, but it's better than the default. Also, if there are ever any overlapping parts or illegal connections in the .ldr file, some parts will be dropped when the import occurs. Good luck! Quote
