JM1971 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) The plastic pyramids in this video, can you buy them? ... Or maybe some kind of fiberglass rockery, what do people use to make courses? I did find there fence post caps ... http://www.tsdistributors.com/iron/ornamental-metals/post-caps/plastic-post-caps/plastic-ball-top-post-caps/ Edited August 30, 2013 by JM1971 Quote
skriblez Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I used books last night when i was testing out the new tiers i put on my 41999 :) Quote
Doc_Brown Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Those ones you linked seem a little small, being only 3". :) This gives me some great ideas tho! I'm now thinking about a custom modular course made from wood that can be jointed in different ways to test off-road vehicles and give good comparisons between models. I wonder how many crawlers the guy in the video sold? :P Quote
JM1971 Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) Yeah, too small. Hardboard/Fiberboard (the stuff on the back of wardrobes) is cheap, I'm thinking 9 - 200mm x 200mm x 100mm high hollow pyramids that can stack up for easy storage, easier said than done :D Edited August 30, 2013 by JM1971 Quote
Lakop Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 The fibre board stuff would do it. What about foam or the packaging stuff? Anyone remember paper mache? you could make any shape you want with that if I remember correctly. A course is a very good idea. I was thinking about a course, or some sort of challenge, for the normal road mocs we see. Maybe some reverse parking challenges for the trucks and cars, the spaces would vary depending on the size of the vehicle. ie: if a vehicle was ten studs wide you would set it a challenge to turn through a gap of maybe fourteen studs. Do you get my drift? H Quote
JM1971 Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 (edited) Ken Block style :D The 51999 can manage about 30 degrees on bare fibreboard, not as much has I though but still impressive. Edited September 1, 2013 by JM1971 Quote

Junpei Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Wow, nice job! The video is really good. Quote
JM1971 Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 Thx! Its all a bit crude atm, but just gatering data, ramp test with and without winch ... Quote

Doc_Brown Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Awesome videos! That works really well. Quote
