Obviously I'm doing a D575 but I have some problems. It has 8 mobile pair of boogies, chain tensioner, suspension, ripper with 8 pneumatics, 2 air pumps, the blade can be raised and you can adjust the angle thanks to the upper independent pneumatics and beside all this is a narrow machine... but all this pay a heavy price... the aesthetics. Maximum functionality and aesthetics are opposites?, I think on this scale yes they are... How to know when it's good not to copy a function in exchange for more site... I think it is pretty good until now but I still have a hard job and fun in the blade because of its adjustable angle :cry_sad: .

I've heard that even though the Samsonite gears were only produced from the late sixties to the early seventies, they're still pretty cheap and easy to find. Is this true?

Mine were cheap , I have eight you never know... and if you look at bricklink I think they still are cheap... at least so far :hmpf_bad::grin: .

This decision of looks vs aesthetics is a decision I have to make too and I too agree that the two can't be mixed completely, so don't worry too much. But IMO, as this is Technic functionality>aesthetics

You are right, aesthetics>functionality use to be model team but not every time... In fact I can build a perfect one on a higher scale but I would lose fidelity on tracks and cylinders... :sadnew: , we always have to play with the balance...

Looks very promising!!! The amount of detail is still very high for such a complex model!

Thanks, every detail are costing me a lot to do... all of them are structural and aesthetic at the same time because I have got no room.... and also my yellow parts are running :cry_sad: .

Very nice job jorgeopesi, are you doing instructions for it aswell?.

The rubber tracks make this machine very expensive...

The black tracks are awesome but this thing is gonna weigh a ton! ^^

I think weight is not a problem for tracks.

Looking very nice!

Thank you. I'm having problems with the blade, the 4 pneumatic cylinder connections must have a lot of play to allow individual operation of the 2 upper cylinders and I find nothing to help me a little, I guess I need connections as suspensions in cars. The dozer tlit movement is difficult to reproduce but at least it's fun to try, like when I got the z-link on my komatsu WA-800 that was also the hardest.

This is looking really cool! I especially like those tracks.

I'm not a particular fan of earth movers, but can appreciate this great project!

Good luck working out the blade tilt. :sweet:

Thanks, I suddenly had an idea of something I've never seen and I can be very useful, it could even be used in cars...
