Some reading and plenty of delicious, big pics: http://sariel.pl/2013/08/the-bat/ I owe many thanks to Mahjqa for inspiration. Edited August 22, 2013 by Sariel Quote
Kronos Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 This is phenomenal! Picture "six" http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Sariel/TheBat/06.jpg is THE BEST! Awesome as usual. Quote
Blakbird Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Great job on all the model, the pictures, and the video as usual. Do you have any information on the suspension rig that holds the whole thing up and moves it around? I'd be interested to see how that works. Quote
Sariel Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 Sure Eric, it's basically the same rig I used here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85327 Only this time I have altered it for higher speeds, since the load is way smaller. There is 1 Medium motor for driving along a pipe, 1 Medium motor for rotating, and 2 XL motors driving two winches directly. So the model technically hangs on the XL motors, but using a worm gear makes everything soooo slow. Quote
gmshades Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 OK, I have to ask, was the "Bat" designed by Stark Enterprises, and Tony is taking it for a test drive? Just kidding, great model! Quote
Lost_In_Noise Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 How many tripods do you have? Amazing work as always, thanks for sharing Quote
Sariel Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Two. Also, if you're interested, here's a small video showing a post-processing that leads to photos like these: Quote

EyesOnly Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Now that is a tough looking model. Kinda scary too seeing it in the dark in the beginning. Nicely done. Quote
