Hello from the UK - Here is my collection

Hello everyone. I'm Pete and from the Southwest of the UK. Below Is my collection. A recent eBay hall and a friend paying visit to Toys R Us in Leeds (they had stock). A trip to Ikea is needed to house them (anyone have urgestions). PS They are all new and sealed still :) Yet to build them. Not sure I want too. Am wanting LEGO Technic Service Truck 42008 and 42009 Mobile Crane MK II. I was a Lego kid many years ago have found my love again.

Quite a nice bunch of sets you've got yourself there. I have the 8110 Unimog U400 myself. I just built the 42009 Mobile Crane MK II this week, you don't wanna miss out on it a great set if you're looking for parts, and a nice building experience.

Nice way to come out of dark ages!! Not build these models should be a pity, find some time As far as housing them, I suggest to find a close cabinet with glass doors to avoid dust and place it shaded from direct light to avoid discolouring.

You should build them! And then you should look for 8043 and 8258 - awesome building experience! And regarding Ikea - go for http://www.ikea.com/...ing_room/11683/ - I use 80cm bookcases with glass doors.

To really find your love again, build them. Also, in the general section is a thread for storage and sorting Lego which could give you some cool advise for your collection. Also in this very Technic section is a thread for showing off your collection, please use that for inspiration and to show off your collection of course.

You have to build them! And Peter_M is right - you need to try and get an 8043 as it's a simply awesome set. 8258 and 8285 are also very cool but can be expensive on the secondary market.

I do a lot work with SMD LED strips. I will be using that to highlight them I think.

As I said above I do some work with SMD LED. I'm sure I'll find a way to use them in there to highlight them. Frosted acrylic base with the LED's inside and mirror backing.

So I've been shopping. Toy's R US and 42009 was £180 but they price match. No online stores or eBay. Argos sell the kit for £149.99 and via the Argos App (iPhone) and they matched it. My misses okayed me to get it. SHOCKED

Large hardware stores are usually good places to look, at least here in the US. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of one of these, though with a collection your size you may want several, in addition to bins for infrequently used parts. These bins aren't the sturdiest, but they work - and at $20, they're affordable.
