The Military Railroad used existing lines, modifying and enlarging them to support armies throughout Virginia, Maryland and, in 1863, Pennsylvania. This version of the model is "unbuildable" in that it uses parts in colors which are not currently in production (particularly a whole lot of "warm gold"). The "buildable" version is here. -John Edited August 15, 2013 by TJJohn12 Quote
JopieK Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 The build able version is also still very nice! I found a picture of the original and it looks very much alike indeed! Quote

Thanks, Jopie! You did indeed find an original picture. There's another great shot of that USMRR engine (The General Haupt) being surveyed by General Haupt. Beware the recursion: http://www.loc.gov/p...e/ppmsca.07293/ good work - so authentic! Thanks, Harnbak! Glad you enjoy it. -John Edited August 15, 2013 by TJJohn12 Quote

TJJohn12 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 I real like old trains like that! Great job!!! This loco looks like the original one! Supreme work! Much appreciated to you both. Working towards something largely historically accurate was the prime objective for me, so I'm glad the model works well and "reads." -John Quote
legoman666 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Great work! Very accurate. May I suggest using the battle droid torso for the greebling above the wheels? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=30375&colorID=67&in=A Would look good in black or metallic silver. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Yes, looking good, and I would echo that the buildable one is mighty fine too. Quote
