lilongwe Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 (edited) Hi technic builders, today I had saw two awesome elevated monorail videos on youtube. There are not by me but I think that they are really cool and the second is funny too. Are there other cool elevated monorails moc's at the web? Did somebody know how to build automatic sliding doors? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8r-JL_eHik Bye lilongwe Edited August 8, 2013 by lilongwe Quote
lilongwe Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 had nobody an idea how sliding doors are possible with lego? Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 (edited) There are several other monorails out there, although I've only seen one other suspended monorail. A friend of mine has built several monorails with 2x2 brick built track. Sliding doors are very possible with LEGO and aren't that difficult to build. On most LEGO trains I've seen, there is an extra motor mounted somewhere inside the train to open/close the doors. A few more videos: Unfortunately, I have not seen instructions on how to make motorized train doors. That is probably something you will have to figure out, but hopefully the videos above will help. lilongwe Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 I'm once again to this topic. Are there some pictures about how to build a slidingdoor like the mechanism at the PF suspended monorail at my first post? It seems this works such as supermarket slidingdoor or such as in lifts But how four doors at the same time? Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Here is a page i found long ago with some hints for designing sliding doors. http://www.engineeringwithabs.ch/sdoors.htm It is only one door not motorized but make 2 of them and connect a gear rack to each one and you should have something like in the video. JoeKaydear Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Sariel likes making several elevated monorails -- see this webpage. Quote
freggel Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I had used one m-motor, small linear actuators, gears and universal joint. Quote
