Coopa182 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Well I do think we will get Moe because Itchy and Scratchy will come in the same bag. I would like to think that too, because the Amazon site has each character separated with commas, but "Itchy & Scratchy" amongst the list as I typed it. So still open to interpretation :) Quote

Yooha Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Let's assume that Itchy and Scratchy come in the same bag. How do you think they will be made? Two minifigures in the same bag? That would be too big compared to other CMFs on the same price, so I don't think it is likely. They could make Itchy similar to the teddy-bear, but this way it won't be able to hold anything in its hand, although it would be necessary (both cartoon figures have to hold some weapon in their hands). So I don't see any good solution making appropriate Itchy and Scratchy in the same bag maintaining their ability to have proper hands to hold something. Quote

Legoman123 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I dont believe lego is making itchy and skratchy. I don't believe that list. Why wouldn't they make Itchy and Scratchy? I can't see an issue with it. Quote
HomerJSimpson Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Why wouldn't they make Itchy and Scratchy? I can't see an issue with it. Well, for one thing, they're not actually REAL in the show- they're cartoons in a cartoon. Quote

Cult_Of_Skaro Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Well, it's been confirmed by two separate sources, and they're a famous part of the show...seems pretty darn likely to me. Quote

Cult_Of_Skaro Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 He was, but long ago enough for it to have changed. Quote
BrickG Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 "Confirmed" via random sources isn't really "confirmed" at all. Take everything as a rumor until you see some actual proof. Proof = confirmation. Until you get proof it's just banter. Quote

So I don't see any good solution making appropriate Itchy and Scratchy in the same bag maintaining their ability to have proper hands to hold something. Well, the teddy bear's arm is essentially a standard-diameter LEGO rod / dowel / pin / whatever. It might not be able to clip onto a "handle" element, but other pieces can clip onto it, or slide onto it with an open stud-type connection. Perhaps Itchy could be given such little arms and then come with, say, a 1x1 plate with clip, a 1x1 round plate with open stud, or some other element that would connect him to some brick-built instrument of malice. Even if not, at any rate, if he were included alongside Scratchy, he'd effectively be technically an "accessory" rather than a minifigure in his own right, in which case they might not even worry about making him able to hold weapons. That's not to mention the fact that if he's included, TLG probably wouldn't throw in a whole slew of additional parts on top of two whole figures in one packet, anyway - they might put in one small additional item, like the banana included with the Minifigures Series 5 Zookeeper and her chimpanzee, or the cellphone-printed 1x2 tile included with the Series 10 Trendsetter and her chihuaha, but they probably wouldn't have a baggie that included two whole characters (even if one is a single-piece, non-articulated figure), plus accessories for both. Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I highly doubt that Itchy will be with scratchy. Number one, they're not hugely off in size, and number two, those minifigures are going to be great for brickfilms, so it would be really strange to make one inarticulate. Quote
just2good Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Here's my opinion on a few things discussed here in the past month. I've been "reserving" my excitement for the CMF series lately, as I don't want to over hype it! I still search about every hour for pictures, though. Keep in mind, the CMF series is essentially guaranteed to include the regular versions of the characters. I've been saying that forever! We're not getting Moe. At this point, while nothing is confirmed about this series by LEGO (besides the Homer and Ned pictures and the price/release date), I strongly believe Moe isn't going to be here. Not only is he a bartender, but I take Amazon's word from March 2014 over Nerdly's word from September 2013. Nerdly had the rumors of the House set and episode right, and they provided a list of Homer, Lisa, Marge, Bart, Apu, Itchy, Scratchy, Chief Wiggum, and Moe. This is why we see some retail sites list them as "confirmed" characters, along with Maggie and Ned (who both appeared in the House set), and Milhouse (who was revealed by his appearance in The LEGO Movie). However, the Amazon listing is from the (reliable) retail store ToyWarehouseUK. Itchy and Scratchy will be separate figures. ToyWarehouseUK listed 16 including Itchy and Scratchy... Why would there be a 15 figure series? And they did not list Moe. It makes sense for LEGO to release them as separate figures. Itchy will just be a little out of scale with short legs, like Maggie is out of scale. Itchy and Scratchy are not only recognizable, but "animal" minifigures from the CMF series always seem to be popular with younger kids. They're not very Simpsons specific, so they can find use as anthropomorphic figures. April 1st will be the reveal date. The first of the month is when LEGO official reveals CMFs, and usually when we can expect WhiteFang's review to be up. May 1st is the street date. This has been confirmed by many places. But, LEGO sets always go on sale before the street date. Just my two cents. Quote

just2good Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I thought the release is April 22nd? That retailer is selling it a bit early. Like I said, some retailers sell it before the street date. I'm sure S@H will have it on May 1st. Quote

I've been "reserving" my excitement for the CMF series lately, as I don't want to over hype it! I still search about every hour for pictures, though. Okay good job for typing so many sentences. Regular versions don't really interest me if they're still the same character, or at least creating more weird alternatives would be nice. However TLG seem to have to make both the CMF and house set versions of Simpsons in their daily appearances. April sounds early but the weird thing is that the regular CMF series 12 comes in October. Anything coming in July? Regardless of TLM, I actually don't expect WhiteFang to review a licensed series if this has to somewhat based on knowledge of the license. Team GB could be first. An early release in April is normal. Series 10 was that way. October is an odd release date, but that's when Series 12 is coming. The normal versions will be very popular, as many already complain about the House set versions. Also, WhiteFang said he is reviewing this one. Quote

But, LEGO sets always go on sale before the street date. Just my two cents. Good thoughts about these figures. Although I am not sure about how their price declines before the street date, I can agree that they would choose not to distribute Moe as a figure. He personally would not come with a beer or wine glass but it is suggestive still. Not only to mention that he works in a bar but he also is known to be suicidal in the show, making him an unfavorable character for children audiences. It would make sense for itchy and scratchy to be separate characters. If they were made into one package they would have less articulation. For example such packages that include a figure with another small animal are Sea captain and trendsetter. The animals in both of these mini figure packs do not have movement other than flexibility. Itchy and scratchy would sell better if they had their own packages so that they can be designed for better figure purposes. I had not considered previously about how kids like animal figures in Lego form. I suppose this would explain why we've had anthropomorphic figures such as the guardians in the Atlantis series, legends of Chima, and the animal costumes in figure packs previously released. It is understood that anthropomorphic figures have appeal to younger audiences and provide more variety to the types of figures that can be made. An early release in April is normal. Series 10 was that way. October is an odd release date, but that's when Series 12 is coming. The normal versions will be very popular, as many already complain about the House set versions. Also, WhiteFang said he is reviewing this one. I am surprised to know that WhiteFang will not only review this series but obtain it before other vendors. Although I do not know of his position in the Lego community this may make sense if he is of higher reviewer rank. Members of the press would be more likely to get such items before the public such as we have had with other things such as the Lego movie collectors tin with nine figures from the movie. Traditionally collectible mini figures series are in stores for 3 to 3 1/2 months of the year. Every year releases three new series, it's mathematically brings us to four months per series. The Lego movie series was released during the last week of December 2013. Therefore the release date of The Simpsons in April would make sense. This time span is approximately four months after the Lego movie was released as a figure series. By these estimates you could predict that the Simpson series will be available from late April to late July or August. Quote

Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Right, so I'm now hearing dozens of different dates on which these are meant to be released. Do we actually know for sure that the official release date is 1st May, and are we even sure that this series will follow the trend of being released slightly early? Quote
