Every store I go to that sells lego has an empty spot on the shelf where the star wars battle packs used to be (the price and description are still there). Are they selling that well? Luckily, I've been able to buy two copies of each set but Id like to buy at least two more. Has anyone had trouble finding these sets?

Depends on where you live actually. I have been to very small towns and found a couple and also, I have been to bigger towns and cities with more stores just to find empty shelves. I guess it more or less depends on the number of the crowd that is likely to visit the stores. Inner cities are always crowded with lots of people shopping around and chances are that those nicely priced sets sell out rather quickly.

It is also getting harder to find the smaller Viking sets such as 7015 and 7016 and the 7779 Batman Catwoman Pursuit set since they recently went out of production. These are also the most affordable sets of the 2 lines so it is quite obvious that stores ran out of stock easily unless they managed to locate extra sets from different sources. I know a small toy store who stocked up extra 7015 Viking Warrior & Fenris Wolf sets as soon as they found out that the set went out of production.

When I went to Legoland CA a couple weeks ago, the selection of SW was quite despicable. In 'The largest Lego retail store in the country", each battle pack had a pile of say, twelve or so, and there were a few new X-wings. That's it for the 2007. I asked the employee at the check-out and the women told me "Everything is on the shelf".

The Lego "Theatre Forum" store had say, three GG fighters and 2 ILCs. I talked to the (this time more intelligent) lady in the licensed themes store and she told me that it's been hard to order them lately and they sell really quickly. We had a brief conversation mainly brushing over the absence of new pirate sets for the heavily advertised new 'Pirate Shores' and the popularity of the 'Redbeard or whatever' was back in the day.

That day I visited those two stores (and others) on a shopping pass. I went back a day later on full admission and every single 2007 set were gone from both stores. :-/

I think the Legoland must be owned by a separate amusement park company that has bought all the rights to everything Lego. You'd think Legoland stores would be the first priority for product shipments.......One is better off visiting their local TRU. 8-|

I hear you on that! I've been to Legoland, California about 6 or 8 times now and their store is ALWAYS lacking in inventory. The Downtown Disney store in Anaheim is the same. I'll never understand how they can't keep those stores stocked. Yes, I realize that these two stores have very heavy traffic and probably sell their inventory very quickly. However, I used to work for a major oil company and we had a store in Arizona the lead the nation in beer sales. You know how they did it? They received THREE shipments of beer per DAY!

I'd be willing to bet that the Legoland and Disney stores probably only get their regular one shipment per week and that's why they are always out of the good stuff and have two-year old Duplo sets stacked to the ceiling! Oh, well...

Here in Austria they're hard to find, too. If you find them it's in very limited quantity (as in "one" or "two"), or just one of the packs (usually the clones are gone and some of the droids are available). I wanted to get a few to resell them once they're gone but I've given up on that project. Too expensive to make decent profit anyway X-D
