piterx Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 ssso: i've changed a few things to improve my moc....i replaced L motors with XL motors to have more power, i've made a different stickers version in dark blue (used mainly at night) and added the passenger's handle bar plus refined a bit the interior :) i already have some footage of the old version crawling...today im gonna shoot the new version and make a comparison :) Quote
skppo Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Do the XLs make it slower? Can the gearing be changed? Would it be possible to convert it to run with just the single XL under the hood? Two seems a tad over powered :P I guess there isnt room for a center diff but who cares. Also, please make instructions if it isn't too much of a chore. Quote

Also, please make instructions if it isn't too much of a chore. it was using a 1:3 ratio for L motors and now it's 1:2 ratio for the xl one it should work fine with 1:1 too...i'll check that on sunday when i'll go to the seaside :P i think you can run it with a single motor but it won't have nice performances if you don't gear it down a lot :) yeah i was thinking about making instructions, mainly because i'd like to rebuild it this winter when it's gonna snow to make the 4th episode eheh and this one hasn't flexible axles...i can definitely make it ^^ by the way there's a lot of space to improve it in many ways, even if to be close to the real one it should have a single motor under the seats ^^ Quote
Kronos Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) Also, please make instructions if it isn't too much of a chore. I believe in an earlier post he said no to instructions, but yes to detailed pics when he takes it apart. Edit: Too slow. Edited July 24, 2013 by Kronos Quote
piterx Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 heheh yes i changed my mind....it won't take so long...it's quite an easy moc....i will do it also because its gonna make me really proud if someone of you rebuilds it Quote
skriblez Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Instructions would be nice :) This is an awesome MOC Quote
Kronos Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) heheh yes i changed my mind....it won't take so long...it's quite an easy moc....i will do it also because its gonna make me really proud if someone of you rebuilds it I'll probably build two! One with dark blue stickers , and one with white. Edited July 24, 2013 by Kronos Quote
agrof Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) Count me in! First the Fiesta, now this... very creative part usage, appeareance is TOP, i would like to have a copy of it. Definiately. Edited July 24, 2013 by agrof Quote
piterx Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 :) i'll be really happy if someone of you will take some pictures then eheh anyway: here's the video of some trial stuff....i'd like to say that it's not meant to be a trial vehicle :P so don't expect nothing special the main problems it has are called DIFFERENTIALS lol.... this video has been shot with the previous configuration, so 2 L motors with a 1:3 ratio... i've tried the 2xl motor with 1:2 ratio, it's just a bit faster and with more power but with the same problems caused by differentials ehehe but exception made for trial it's really fun to drive everywhere :) Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Fab vid as usual! Since your Lancia MOC I think your 'Technic skills' have really improved. Your style reminds me of official Technic models! Keep creating these awesome MOCs!!! Quote
Doc_Brown Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Another awesome video! Sweet ride man. Why not put a little rubber bit in the diffs to make is limited like I did with my first crawler. Works wonders! Quote
piterx Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 yeah i thought about using those small rubber bits....but then i remebered how they were after usage xD and i didnt lol i just need to face the truth: it's not a crawler anyway thank you guys, you're really kind ! today im gonna go somewhere in the woods to film the version equipped with XL motors ...when i come back home i'll start building it in ldraw Quote
skriblez Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Cool video :) When/if the instructions come out, this place will be swarming with these mocs :) Quote
pzh2000 Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 it's a great ATV moc,and i used your sticker template to creat some camouflage stickers, but after printing, i found the stickers are not clear enough,is it possible to release the vector version? Quote
piterx Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 thanks guys :) one of these days i'll edit and post a new video where i'll sacrify some torque for speed using a 1:1 gearing (if it can handle it xD) it's a great ATV moc,and i used your sticker template to creat some camouflage stickers, but after printing, i found the stickers are not clear enough,is it possible to release the vector version? hmmm it's strange man...i've created an A4 with 150dpi, wich is not the best file you can have, but it should come out quite nice....oh maybe i know what's wrong with that....probably it's the jpg conversion....tell me wich one do you want and i'll send you the psd file :) Quote
GuiliuG Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 The rear suspension is brillant. Good job ! I'm just wondering if it's strong enough to handle the torque coming from the motor? Quote
piterx Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) thanks man ^^ yes it is...i haven't damaged any cv joints. the only thing that i don't like is the wobbling given by the 42000 hub :/ if you have them i would reccomend to use two beams instead of one as i did...it will make the thing stronger without requiring some care to check that the axle with stop is well fixed :) anyway, once i'll finish the instructions, i'd feel really happy if someone of you improves this vehicle because i found it really funny to play with :P btw: i think that the thing that i'm enjoing more is the amount of space aviable to make as many changes i want lol.... with some retouching here and there (without consistent modifications to the chassis) it could be also powered by two rc buggy motors... THING THAT I WILL TRY one of these days Edited July 25, 2013 by piterx Quote
TimH Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Another awesome MOC! I like the camouflage stickers you made. Quote
AndyCW Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 I made a side by side ATV with two buggy motors. I used the same tires and used 3:1 gearing. It hauled. It was not as polished as yours and was only two wheel drive. I intend on making one of your versions and integrating the two buggy motors and then I will see how to downsize it using the extreme cruiser tires. Quote
