darththeling Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) Posted last night on the Star Wars Insider Facebook page, via Star Wars Rebels: So, we've all seen the intriguing Star Wars Rebels trailer and then watched it several times over again. Now you've got a feel for it, are you going to be tuning into the first episode? CG form or in the flesh, we're on cloud 9 (well, level 1-50 of Cloud City, which we hear is even better) having Lando back on our screens! The post has since been deleted. I'm guessing this qualifies as somewhat of a rumor(?) but from what I can guess, our hopes of seeing Cloud City in TLG form for the first time in over 10 years anytime soonish just went from "long overdue" / "not expected" to "very possibly more expected." Or something. There's little doubt introducing Lando 5 years before ANH may affect Rebels in that: Storylines may take place on Cloud City Storylines possibly involving Lando gaining Cloud City Storylines possibly involving Lando piloting the Falcon In any case, whether a one-off story or running theme (if this Lando business is true) then we are to be graced with Bespin Lego in the future for sure. Although the posting mentions Cloud City without committing to the idea of having a story there, I think it only must make sense. Is it known how long Lando was the administrator baron of Cloud City? In Episode V we learn that the operation is small and the empire hadn't taken notice of them yet.... meaning it was a safe haven for Rebels then? Wasn't Billy Dee recently quoted as saying he hasn't heard from anyone about appearing in Episode VII, making it seems as though they had overlooked him? I wonder now if he wasn't being coy, knowing he would feature in Rebels instead. Edited May 8, 2014 by darththeling Quote
dsoffers Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the local Lego Store (Wijnegem, Belgium). The Summer wave of the new Star Wars sets are available starting today. They're not on the Online Shop yet so I guess they'll be added by tomorrow or in the next couple of days. If I remember correctly these are the prices (+-): ISD: 139.95€ AT-AT: 139.95€ Mos Eisley Cantina: 69.95€ Snowspeeder: 29.95€ Not too sure about prices on the others. I did see the B-Wing, The Phantom and The Ghost on the shelves. Also, not sure if this has been mentioned before but The Ghost and The Phantom can be combined into a (slightly) bigger set. The Phantom somehow connects to the back of The Ghost. Quote
Robert_88 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 30 € for the Snowspeeder is nice but 140 € for the AT-AT would be tough! Quote
Robianco Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Just spoke to Lego Store in Liverpool and they have summer wave Star Wars in today. Looks like I'll be getting in my car in about 10 minutes! Quote
will Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Just spoke to Lego Store in Liverpool and they have summer wave Star Wars in today. Looks like I'll be getting in my car in about 10 minutes! That's a lot quicker than I had thought (and quicker than my wallet and hoped). Best wave in years for me. Some really nice minifigs as well (B-wing pilots etc). No local shop to me, so will have to hope I can get them on-line soon. Quote
AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 When does the summer wave appear on S@H after the release in shops? Really looking forward to the Cantina Quote
Chills Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 If I remember correctly these are the prices (+-): ISD: 139.95€ AT-AT: 139.95€ Mos Eisley Cantina: 69.95€ Snowspeeder: 29.95€ Not too sure about prices on the others. Yikes, those are pricey. I wonder what the US prices will be. Quote
McDuder Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Hmm I thought the AT-AT was going to be $120. Going to be tough on the wallet. Quote

Well on the official Lego website, the prices are even steeper for Belgian customers SD: € 142.99 AT-AT: € 129.99 Mos Eisley Cantina: € 87.99 Snowspeeder: € 42.99 Is it me or is Lego getting more expensive each wave, I mean come on the Cantina and the Snowspeeder are heavily overpriced. goatman461 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Is it known how long Lando was the administrator baron of Cloud City? Wookieepedia says "A year after the Battle of Yavin, Cloud City was run by Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian, who had won administration of the city from Baron Administrator Dominic Raynor in aSabacc tournament." It'd be better to see him before he started acting all responsible anyway Also "Lando Calrissian acquired the Falcon in a game of sabacc on Bespinaround 5 BBY from a certain Cix Trouvee, a professional gambler who couldn't cover his debt." I'm not sure if this EU went on the chopping block, it is referenced in OT but given more detail by the EU. Hopefully we get the best of both worlds, Lando running around as a degenerate gambler and visiting Bespin, since he must have been close enough to gamble with the baron. Also, Lando would've been a teenager when Luke was born, making him not much older when Rebels takes place. Maybe we'll see his father, like in the Yoda Chronicles Quote

I can't seem to find them on the Belgian Lego website but the prices I posted are (approximately) the prices I saw in Wijnegem (AT-AT might have been 129.99€ in the store, I only had a quick look at the boxes and the prices, next time I'll write them down.. ) Haven't picked anything up yet as I told myself last week (after buying The Simpsons House) I wouldn't buy any more sets this month. Damn you Lego for releasing these so early. :p Edited May 8, 2014 by dsoffers Quote
Robianco Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Well my points finally had a use and I'm now fully loaded up with the OT side of the summer wave. I'll wait and see if I can get the Yoda Chronicles ship on sale at some point! Quote
Pablo94 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 That's really fast for the summer wave to be realised. Quote
TWP Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Cloud City and lando in rebels? That would be great! not sure what kind of lego set then will come on the shelfs, as in rebels other rooms are visited I guess... I would prefer a ESB version though. About Euro prices - many sources seem to tell an other price. I've found a full list on this (Dutch) site: http://www.speelgoednl.nl/lego-star-wars?p=12 . The numbers behind "adviesprijs" are probalbly retail euro pricing. Quote

You can view the price on this website though: http://www.pricevortex.com/ Quote
Pablo94 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Keep in mind that early realise prices are always higher than retail. Quote
Samiens Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Just picked up an AT-AT in London for £109.99. Didn't check many other prices- the snow speeder was £34.99- which is crazy, got the battle of hoth set a few weeks ago for less than that! Quote

rollermonkey Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Yikes, those are pricey. I wonder what the US prices will be. If you look for the NY Toy Fair media guide, all the prices are in there. I think maybe FBTB has it posted. Quote
dsoffers Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 A buddy of mine is buying the AT-AT and/or ISD tomorrow, I'll ask for some pictures and what he payed for them. Those are the 2 sets I want the most from this wave. And I'll probably get Mos Eisley Cantina later for the Dewback. Quote
Samiens Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I'll see what I can do review wise- but my camera isn't up to much- if nothing else ill post a few thoughts here once I've built it this weekend! Quote
Robianco Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 AT-AT was £109.99. ISD was £119.99. Cantina was £69.99. B-Wing was £49.99 (I think). Snowspeeder was £34.99 but I didn't pick that one up. Of all of them I think the Snowspeeder is the worst value wise. With the B-Wing, Cantina and ISD I topped up my points enough to get the AT-AT on them. I've got the figs from the Snowspeeder and it's not different enough from the Hoth Base model to make it a first day purchase. The Yoda Chronicles set is a must for the 2 figures that SHOULD have been in Cantina and Sandcrawler but I'll wait for those to get reduced at a retailer... Probably John Lewis or Tesco! Quote
StarWarsTom Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 What do you say the new cantinaset? I like the old drewback much more than the new one. The paintings destroy the reality effect of the drewback. I like also the dark Greedo from 2004 much more. The cantina itself is better in the new set. I like the dome dome roof. For my ideal cantina I'll combine the 2004 and 2014 edition. ;-) Quote
Nom Carver Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Can we get more pictures and less rumors? Just picked up an AT-AT in London for £109.99. Didn't check many other prices- the snow speeder was £34.99- which is crazy, got the battle of hoth set a few weeks ago for less than that! Can you share with us a couple pictures of it please ?
