djmangunz Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I really like the look of the Ghost with its bubble gun turrets in the front and on the top. The Ralph McQuarrie influence is fantastic. I think the Rebels line can breath new life into a well worn catalog of OT age vehicles and ships. The only downside is that it only comes with three new figures. While I am sure that Lego is saving the Inquisitor for his own vehicle during the 2015 winter line it would have been nice to get a "named" villain with the Ghost rather than a bland Stormtrooper. Speaking of which I stumbled upon a tasty rumor regarding a particular future Rebel character: ‘It can be said, that Rebels will introduce Mara Jade, into the film canon, sometimes appearing with the Inquisitor and she will be the living mother of Ben Skywalker. http://metro.co.uk/2014/01/27/star-wars-episode-7-to-have-strong-link-to-star-wars-rebels-4278341/ Can you say, "Mara Jade official minifigure in 2015?" Artanis I Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Do you mean the Yoda Chronics? Spanglish? Hmm, reminds me of Pre Vizsla's ship. And the wings do have the illusion of differing lengths. Quote
tormentalous Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Huh. Okay, thanks; I hadn't seen that before. Strange that there's no link to the Brickset post that he says is the source... The rumor of the Slave I started back in the middle of page 46 http://www.eurobrick...c=84819&st=1125 Quote
Darth Nader Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ISD is up! -Sci Looks very nice in my opinion, thanks for sharing. A lot of people will probably say that it looks almost the exact same as the 2006 version but in my opinion if it's not broken then don't fix it. However it would've been nice if it included a few more bricks, the one from 2006 had around 1,300 pieces. Quote
djmangunz Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Who are the third and fourth characters in the ISD lineup? Quote
hjmediastudios Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Looks like a Death Star trooper and an "Imperial [unreadable] trooper." Probably a technician or pilot of some sort. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I quitw like the looks of these sets, missed the ISD first time around and would happily pick it up this time round. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Is it me or do the Stormtrooper helmets in these upcoming sets look different? My eyes might just be playing tricks on me. From what I've read, the UCS Slave I is strictly a rumor. There's a lot of talk about one but no source. Quote
Only Sinner Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Yoda Chronics- That explains why he is usually the most mellow Jedi. It may also be why he acts so goofy in ESB. The new ISD sure looks to be several steps above the old floppy, wonky, hot mess that was the previous version. This one might actually be displayable right out of the box! I hope it looks as good as those photos. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ISD looks great, a must buy for me Have we had any clearer pics of the cantina yet? Quote
Artizan Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ISD has way too few figures for such a set, unless the stormtroopers are x4, and navy troopers and crew are x2. And there no named figures except for Vader? Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 If you look closely at the Cantina Box and then the ISD box, it doesn't look like there are multiples of any of the figures in the ISD set. What a disappointment. Looks like I'll stick to 6211 and bricklink the new minifigs. Quote

And there no named figures except for Vader? The lack of named characters is a bit of a disapointment. It would've been nice to have gotten updated figures of Palpatine, Tarkin or ANH Leia. Or even new characters like Captain Needa and Admiral Ozzel. Quote

cookiemonster Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 The overall proportions of the new version are better than in 6211 (i.e. the indentations are now smaller and located more in the front like it is in the movies). On the counterpart the new bridge looks too small for me. The brick over the bridge has been reduced by two studs from 6 to 4 studs. The shield generators are now directly mounted to the roof and not leveled like before. I'm really looking forward to see the inside of the ISD. Quote

Could very well be these stormtroopers are the 'Rebels' variant, from the upcoming cartoon series. Those troopers have a somewhat different helmet design: REBELS: 'STANDARD': Quote

If you look at the Cantina picture next to the Bith, you will notice what I believe is "TM" then "x3". The ISD just has what I believe is "TM". Who really knows though, this is all preliminary still. Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ISD is up! -Sci Yeah! Thanks for the heads up! This finally makes clear that standing minifigs won't fit into the bridge. That's actually sad. If TLG reads this - please let us put minifigs onto the bridge! Apart from this, the model looks pretty accurate when being compared to the original: http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070424053724/starwars/images/a/a7/ISD_arrow.jpg Apparently the piece count was seriously reduced - for whatever reason! Dunno what elements have been cut from it. Hopefully nothing of major importance (the bridge???). Maybe they have used more bigger parts for the hull and thus reduced the amount of greebling etc. I hope that the hull will be closed and there are no ugly gaps. Quote
wesker Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 The Stormtrooper helmet doesn't look any different to me. Quote

I think this is a mistake on the box, because I don't think the ISD will have the totally identical piece count like the Ghost ;-) Quote
Robert_88 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I was still in my dark ages when the 6211 came out but I also didn't like this model. But the new 75055 looks nice! :) Quote
