ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I think it's general rieekan, who was available in the battle of hoth set. Then I guess that pretty much makes this an Empire Strikes Back calendar, though it weirdly has a Tatooine Luke on the ceiling and a Clone Trooper. (Surprised it's not a Snowtrooper, though we did get one in 2012.) I also guess that's supposed to be an R4-series droid, though none of those were in ESB. So...maybe I have no idea what film this is supposed to represent. Quote
Archer Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I'm hoping the clone is a movie version of the 501st. Best way for them to distribute it without a kill all the younglings vibe. Hopefully there is a helmet in addition to the Santa hat Quote
Faefrost Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 NB: Frix is easily made from a Y-Wing Pilot helmet and a Lando face. I'm hoping generic B-Wing pilot and Nien Numb rather than Ten Numb. It would still be neat if somebody sends TLG his picture and character info and kinda suggests that "gee wouldn't it be great to get some more diverse minifigs that aren't Billy D Williams or Samuel L Jackson? At the risk of pushing this conversation further along a tangent that's right on the line between on-topic and off-topic, didn't we get a Bespin guard with a brown head and classic smiley print? So it's not unheard of to get a background character in a color other than flesh/yellow. Quote
Only Sinner Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I think TLG is trying to be more ethnically / species diverse. I am looking forward to the new Bith and Ithorian minifigs this year. Quote

Clone OPatra Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Hooooo boy, the exact same Snowspeeder repackaged and re-sold yet again! It was cool back in 2004, TLG. Ten years later, an actual re-design would be nice. Quote

wesker Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Disapointing. The only real difference from last year's Snowspeeder is the addition of spring loaded missiles. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I like how they've been doing taller boxes these recent years. They look cool. -Sci Quote

Lego just refuses to fix the canopy on the snowspeeder, its almost like they are proud of it. I'm pretty sure the final version isn't going to be much different. The phantom looks like a piece of crap, they could have at least added some more slopes, so lazy. B-wing looks okay for a preliminary, still better than the crappy snowspeeder. Quote

legos486 Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Didn't we get 2/3 of those figures last year in the same 2013 battle of hoth set. Edited January 27, 2014 by legos486 Quote
just2good Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 New picture! For the big Rebels Summer 2014 set, The Ghost! Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) inexpensive It´s 27 to 35€, that´s not inexpensive. Especially considering Snowspeeders are small enough that you could put one in a 20€ set, maybe even a Battlepack. army builder Not at all with those grey markings, not a single orange part and Luke/Ralter yet again as pilots. Really thought they would finally do a redesign this year since the X-Wing got one 2012 already and was released 2004 too. It feels like they just don´t give a crap with Hoth. Slave One, Prequel stuff, Falcon, B-Wing. Pretty much everything has some thought put into it and changes some stuff that didn´t quite work right when they do a redesign but AT-AT and Snowspeeder are all the same set with wrong colorschemes, weird proportions that could be designed better and no effort put into the structure of the AT-AT. Grey Snowspeeder in a much smaller size and AT-AT with more movie accurate legs, a sturdy beam structure like with the new Clone Tank/AT-TE would work wonders. I already sold my old Snowspeeders and looked forward to some new ones that fit better. Oh well, one day. Edited January 27, 2014 by Navy Trooper Fenson Quote
Lego Spy Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Oh gosh, never mind. That price is ridiculous. Quote
DarthPotato Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Holy crap, the Ghost has over 1100 pieces?! And for only $90? Or is that just a screw up and their including the piece count of the Phantom too? And can anyone make out the names of the figures in the Ghost? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Ignoring color, the Ghost doesn't look that bad. It might be a bit on the short side (I'd say 'squat', but that doesn't seem to read right to me when referring to length instead of height.), but the shaping reminds me of the two Old Republic ships we got, which I thought was done really well for a System set. Darth Nader Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) I know I have been complaining a bit too much today, but what is up with the snow speeder? The guy at the london toy fair said that it looked more accurate to the actual thing, instead like most people have said it looks the exact same but with the missiles added to it. The Ghost on the other hand was the one I thought was going to turn out ugly, but it looks pretty cool, especially for an early picture. But I doubt that it's going to be $90 since it has 1100 pieces, but it still shouldn't be that expensive. Edited January 27, 2014 by Darth Nader Quote

Archer Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Kannan Jarrus sounds like Can 'n Jars. A very silly name indeed. Also yes, please please please lego, let the figs appear relatively the same as normal figs! Edited January 27, 2014 by Archer Quote
