The cafe corner, out of the box, completely lacks anything inside other then the stairs and railings. So, I gave it one. I first gave it one a few years ago, then rebuilt it heavily recently.

Well, it's called the Cafe Corner, so here's the Cafe on the first floor:

I'd like to call attention to the slightly rotated chairs, and the pastry on the counter.

From another angle:

It's worth pointing out that this isn't quite the most posh cafe, and they serve liquor here.

Upstairs, the sign says HOTEL, so there needs to be a hotel upstairs, so here it is, the lobby of the Great West hotel:

On the left is the office, with check in counter, on the right is a room for guests.

Sorry about the blurry pics, my camera doesn't seem to like this building. Photo editing I'm great at, but not photography.

There's an address book on the check in counter, a newspaper on the table in the back, and a calendar on the wall.

Drawers on the left a cabinet in the center (it has surface relief, but it doesn't show up in the pictures), and a safe on the right. There's brass (pearl gold) detailing on all the tables, but it doesn't show up.

The room in pretty basic, with a rather plain bed, (sheets pulled back), a small end table, and small table and a chair:

Upstairs are two more rooms, all the same:

Just to illustrate why the 3rd floor of the cafe corner is such a pain, in addition to having small rooms inside: you have to take the roof apart, and fiddle with the turntable attaching the tower, to do just about anything involving the interior upstairs.

All in all, not bad considering that the cafe started out as a blank baseplate.

I like the interior on the ground floor - it feels very much like a real cafe and the kitchen/bar area has some nice detailing, but with all those empty glasses left on the tables the owner should probably hire some more staff!

You've done a good job cramming so much into such a confined space upstairs. I like this!

Nice job. I also made a Cafe Corner interior so it's always interesting to see how other people tackle it. I like your hotel reception desk on the first floor. Nice touch.

Some suggestions:

To increase the floor space in the cafe it's possible to hollow out the space under the main stairs - add an arch into the cafe and put the kitchen in there.

On the top floor it might be better to ditch the landing and just have the penthouse suite door open direct onto the stairs - and make the 2nd room an en-suite bathroom. This would also make it easier to access the rooms.

Thanks. Unfortunately, lego doesn't make full glasses :classic:

The problem is, that would leave the hotel with only 2 rooms, and one almost 3 times the size of the other. Personally, I think most lego modulars don't have enough 'stuff' to stay in business, from not enough stuff for sale in the Grand Emporium and the Green Grocer, to only 6 seats in the move theater. Frankly, the hotel seemed to work better with a full 3 rooms.

But yah, landings take up a lot of space. That's why I had to make the green grocer all 1 apartment (likely the store's owner), rather then put in apartments. There simply wasn't enough room.

Nice interiors there, I like what you've done on the top floor, my interior on that floor is rather cramped (including only a one stud wide corridor for the entrance into one of the room) but each of the 3 rooms has an en suite! (Check out my flickr account for some pics if you're ineretsted!)

And I like the detailing in the Cafe kitchen and the hotel Office is a great touch too :classic:

Great work and happy building

Your Camera should have a macro setting for close up detail pictures.

Combine it with a tripod and you should get some better interior shots.

I like what you have done with the cafe interior. :)

I do like the overall interior. The main level is perfect. Great use of space with the counter/kitchen area. The seats work well too. Next, tile the flooring  .

The upper levels are a bit crammed, as expected. Good job squeezing everything in though.

I'm still slowly working on mine, so my interiors will be finalized sometime. I may have to borrow some of your main level details with that kitchen area.

I really liked your main level, nice and open spaced which is something I would like to do for the main floor. Upstairs I am getting more of an idea on what not to do after seeing a few people's designs. You are right TheLegoDr the upstairs do seem to be cramped. I was thinking that I would just have two rooms on the two floors. Sorta like hotels in Amsterdam and I would have the front desk on the main floor.
