Brickdoctor Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 And some people see WBD's and Pie's avatars in the Heroica forum and immediately assume the post concerns Skrall and Atramor. My brain has three years of badass lockpicking associated with someone; it needs help to let it know when to think "Newb Orc" instead! Quote
Bricksandparts Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Question: Do AoE attacks wake up non-targeted enemies? For example will a ravage wake up an asleep target so long as no one targets that target directly? Quote
Endgame Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 It says woken up if damaged by an attack, with no need for targetting specified. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) But it also says woken up if you roll a 1, 2, 3, or 4, making it sound like you have to target it to wake it up. Edited August 6, 2014 by Bricksandparts Quote
Endgame Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) That is how it applies to heroes, not enemies. Asleep - The enemy is unable to act for three rounds unless it is woken up by an attack. Edited August 6, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Bricksandparts Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Ok, it still seems like it'd need to be targeted. I'm just waiting for Sandy's reply Quote

I'm just waiting for Sandy's reply Always go with the literal meaning when it comes to the rules, without your own interpretations, please. You rarely go wrong, then. Asleep enemies are woken up by any attack that hits them, simple as that. Quote
Flipz Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 AoE wakes Asleep enemies. It's been run that way pretty much forever. Quote
Asphalt Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I would really love t get involved with the game, but there are hundreds of pages of posts. Where should I start reading? Quote

CMP Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I would really love t get involved with the game, but there are hundreds of pages of posts. Where should I start reading? You don't have to read much to get started. You should read Sandy's first post in this topic, it pretty much outlines how to play the game and start your character. You also may want to skim through a shorter quest or two to get a grasp on how it's played. Quote
Endgame Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Welcome to the world of Heorica! First, I would reccomend reading through the first post of this topic to get a good grip on the rules - after that, you can introduce your character in Heroica Hall. If you want quests that are good reading, you can read Quests 1, 2, and 3 for a simpler narrative, as well as 44, 66 for more complicated ones. Edited August 8, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Duvors Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I would really love t get involved with the game, but there are hundreds of pages of posts. Where should I start reading? Go to the Library and read the first post for basic information on the setting, some of the players have also added posts talking about certain things in greater detail, afterwards I'd recommend reading the various quests at your leisure, but remember, read the basic rules first, good luck and have fun. Captain Settle Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I also have a question: When you're chosen for a quest, can you still comment in Heroica Hall up until the quest starts, or do you have to stop once you're chosen for the quest. Quote
Asphalt Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I haven't found where you detailed exactly what you starting equipment is. I would like to get my character posted. I have his bio and backstory, no fig yet though. Quote

Flipz Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Sandy, would you be opposed to me making a text-based copies of the various rules pages on the wiki? There have been plenty of times where I and others have needed to find answers to questions but been unable to thanks to the images not being searchable; additionally, having links from various key words (i.e. "Artifacts", "Weapon Power", etc.) would also make it easier to find answers to many of the frequently asked questions many players end up having. Asphalt Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 ok, I think I have a character stat post written correctly. Assuming I dont pick any additional gear or items to start I think I am good to go. Now to start reading the rules. Quote

I have the texts written out in a Word-document, so you don't need to type them all over again. I can add them once I have spare time for the wiki again. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Rules clarification: Skeleton Decoys take the damage a hero would have received from a free hit correct? I.e. said damage takes heroes row and SP into account, correct? Quote
Sandy Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Rules clarification: Skeleton Decoys take the damage a hero would have received from a free hit correct? I.e. said damage takes heroes row and SP into account, correct? Row can be applied, but not SP, since it's personal to the hero. The decoy has no SP in itself, it's rather just additional SP for the party. Quote
Comrade Commander Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Can items from the lottery be traded via Z-mail since it was a public lottery and announcement went to everyone (so wouldn't break RP)... ...or would it be prefered that we wait till we are all in the hall together? Quote
