JimBee Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I think Actaeon's birthday will be June 07. The day I joined. That shouldn't be too hard to remember, as it is written under my icon My join date is also Hybros' birthday. I update his age every January 7th (started the game at age 50). Quote
Sandy Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Ellaria has been celebrating her birthday each anniversary as well. She's turning 24 this August. Wow, how the time flies... Quote

It's cool to think that someday I can say I've been here for 3 years. It seems like a long ways off, but I remember joining MOCpages nearly 4 years ago, and it seems like it was so recent! Quote
UsernameMDM Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I deleted Hoke's age. Didn't feel like keeping up with it since there isn't a definitive enough time lapse in game for me to understand. He started as 21, which I understand is when knighthood is bestowed. Quote
Zepher Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Boomingham ages, Nyx has not (something that makes their relationships morph over time ). Boomingham's is sometime in spring - he doesn't keep up with it strictly, so neither do I. Quote
Pandora Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 It's a british holiday celebrating a failed attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament, it is celebrated by shooting off fireworks and burning Guy Fawkes (the instigator of the attempt) in effigy. Sadly it is not a British holiday; there are no attributed days off. We do indeed, however, have many fireworks displays and bonfires and other fun stuff. Boomingham ages, Nyx has not (something that makes their relationships morph over time ). Nyx will, strangely, always be 19. Unrealistic? Perhaps, but that's how it is. Quote

Pandora Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Kinda like some women are always 29, right? Haha, good point. The difference is she'll actually still look 19. Quote
Endgame Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) Kinda like some women are always 29, right? In real life, I believe celebrity Betty White is currently on her third 90th birthday party. Edited July 2, 2014 by Endgame Quote
StickFig Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Speaking of ages, for some reason Matthias is listed as 51 in the Hall topic, but he should be 21 (since Gnomes only live to 50ish). Anyway, I have a question about class changes... Say Matthias (a ranger) becomes a Druid, then a Winged Warrior, then a Sylvan Ranger, then a Prophet (after years and years, obviously). How much health would he have (aside from level bonuses)? How much ether? What I mean is does the health/ether bonus from a character's advanced class stack with the health/ether bonus from expert class, and so on with the Veteran and Master classes? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 What I mean is does the health/ether bonus from a character's advanced class stack with the health/ether bonus from expert class, and so on with the Veteran and Master classes? No, it does not stack. You lose the bonus from your previous class and gain the bonus from your new class whenever you switch classes, even if you're switching to a higher 'tier' of classes. Quote

JimBee Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Yeah, if the HP boosts stacked everyone could just switch to their Knight/Cleric-based advanced class before going to an expert class to get the biggest boost. Quote
Flipz Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Yeah, if the HP boosts stacked everyone could just switch to their Knight/Cleric-based advanced class before going to an expert class to get the biggest boost. Maybe it's just because it's late and I'm tired, but I read that as HP boots. Then I realized that the boots from Dota 2 could be REALLY cool if we adapted them to this game. For example, the so-called "mana boots" become: Arcane Boots - +5 max Ether; wearer may gift Ether to other players. For every 1 Ether gifted, the receiver gains 2 Ether. While the Power Treads might become: Power Treads - (grants +3 to wearer's WP, SP, Max HP, or Max Ether, changeable only once per battle. Footwear, suitable for anyone) (Obviously just a couple of quick examples in need of major tweaks, but you get the idea--Dota 2 is a great game to mine for ideas, particularly for those less - common categories like boots and gloves.) Sandy Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 A suggestion to the issue with second characters: (And yes, I'm moving the discussion again. ) Since the second characters were meant as a reward to those dedicated to this game, how would it sound if the requirement for getting one would be changed to completing 10 quests successfully or hosting at least 5 quests? Would that encourage people to try out hosting quests, do you think? This means that the requirements for accessing the Veteran Job Classes might be changed as well, requiring Level 40 and the Veteran's Badge item (which would be made more readily available). Quote
CMP Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 That sounds very reasonable and seems it like it would encourage more hosting. Win win. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I think it's a good idea. I think though that perhaps just completing ten quests should count. A failed quest is still an experience in terms of character progression. We should also make it clear that it has to be ten completed quests, not ten quests you were on. Dedication to the game is the key here. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Full participation in 10 quests, is, I think, the appropriate terminology. Edited July 4, 2014 by Pyrovisionary Quote
Kintobor Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Also, blast it Sandy, now I've got two people to contend to with who I want my second character to be. Quote

It should make people consider twice before botching up a quest on purpose - which is totally okay in certain circumstances, but it should have it's consequences. Quote
Endgame Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 While I do support the proposed clause for second characters, I don't think I'm going to have a second character - my only relative in game is Karie, and something tells me that isn't allowed. Quote

I don't mean botching a quest on purpose, although I see what you mean. In some players perspective (you know who you are ) 84 was a rousing success. Shadeux rep, yay! In Karie's eyes, she failed her employer and the house she was hoping to get in good terms with. It was still a character progressing experience though. I feel the consequences should be for the character, not the player. I do understand what you're saying though. If someone tries to derail a quest on purpose, then there's a problem. While I do support the proposed clause for second characters, I don't think I'm going to have a second character - my only relative in game is Karie, and something tells me that isn't allowed. I now want to see a scenario where players attempt to portray other players characters. Quote
