Sisco Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I like the poisoned rule, but I agree that we should start with just the poison effect for the time being. Quote
JimBee Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I agree with all of that. I'm all for using the new rule for blessed and transcended, too, but I'm also fine with just testing it out for poison for now. Quote
Sandy Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 Alright, it's been decided that poisoned-effect will now be changed to the form where it now includes the number of damage it does, and that Venoms can now be stacked to increase the damage dealt by the poisoning. Also, badly poisoned-effect will cease to exist. These following rule pages were changed accordingly. I'll change the descriptions on the Marketplace items and go through the skills of the poisonous FoG-enemies soon as well. Quote
Sandy Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 I changed the Sterile Gloves that Fabian sells to protect from poisoned and bleeding, due to this change. Anyone who already has a pair should note this. The FAQ has been updated to explain the stacking of poisoning better: Q: Can I stack damage-dealing effects such as poisoned, bleeding and cursed?A: Poisoned-effect can be stacked after the change done to it in January 2014, since it now deals damage equal to the number attached to it. Using a Venom and a Deadly Venom on a weapon will make the weapon cause poisoned by 11-effect, and with each consecutive strike on the poisoned enemy the effect does 11 damage more. The same applies when poisonous enemies hit the heroes consecutive times. Bleeding and cursed do not stack, however. Quote
Flipz Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I'd have the note about Bleeding and Cursed say "Bleeding and cursed do not currently stack, however." Also, I left the items I gave away in Tidings of Comfort and Joy in my stats page so you can easily see what they are/do, I'll delete them once I get my phat lootz return presents. Now, regarding my Duke's Coat-of-Arms: That should now grant me blanket immunity to poisons, yes? That would match with a few other Artifacts that currently exist. Also, I'll assume my Scroll of Poisoning now grants "Poisoned 10" instead of Badly Poisoned? Quote

Zepher Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Can someone explain to me how Duel Strike works exactly? You roll one die for both hits, right? What if you roll damage on that roll - are you hit only once, or twice? Quote
CMP Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Can someone explain to me how Duel Strike works exactly? You roll one die for both hits, right? What if you roll damage on that roll - are you hit only once, or twice? It's explained in the FAQ, I think. Quote
Zepher Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 It doesn't explain how rolling for it works, though. I guess I should be assuming two rolls for two separate attacks... though I thought I read differently somewhere. It's it essentially just a limited hastened, then? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) It doesn't explain how rolling for it works, though. I guess I should be assuming two rolls for two separate attacks... though I thought I read differently somewhere. It's it essentially just a limited hastened, then? Think of it like this: On a single target hit (successful roll), the weapon hits twice, or a second target. Nothing else is different. Edited January 5, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
CMP Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) It implies you only roll once, though. The hero chooses to attack one enemy twice or one enemy and they automatically hit the next one in order. Edited January 5, 2014 by CallMePie Quote
Zepher Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Okay, so it is just the one roll. Awesome, thank you! Quote
Palathadric Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 @93, since all of those monsters are undead, can the heroes still deal damage by healing them? I suppose so, right? Quote
Flipz Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 @93, since all of those monsters are undead, can the heroes still deal damage by healing them? I suppose so, right? Too bad you guys don't have Arthur or Cinna or Nyx--could Healing Staff them to death, like the thing was intended for. Quote
Sandy Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 @93, since all of those monsters are undead, can the heroes still deal damage by healing them? I suppose so, right? It says so both in the rules and in the FAQ, so why do you need to ask? You're not even in the quest yourself... Quote
Palathadric Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I must be seriously blind. I still don't see it. Maybe tomorrow's light will open my eyes. Quote
Flipz Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) How would Benji's Precision Bow be counted versus Baltar? He's immune to 3 of its 4 elements by special immunity (i.e. the way a Hero would be in the Arena), but would the Wind element still let him hit, or would he be completely immune? (Yes, I know he used his other bow, the thought just occurred to me. ) I think we had this conversation regarding the Arena, but I don't recall the end decision. Also, on the subject of Baltar, Zeph, you owe Benji 100-62=38 Gold. ...so why did you decide to host BOTH sets of Overkill Gloves at the same time? Edited January 13, 2014 by Flipz Quote
Palathadric Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 What's the final verdict on whether or not healing staves can be used on a person wearing the Duplovian Helmet? Quote
Flipz Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I don't think we ever got a final answer from Legonater. Obviously I'm biased, but recalling that immunity to healing was only added afterward as a balancing factor and because the helmet blocks Ether-based attacks (Immunity to Magic), I'd argue that the staff would still work, because it's not Ether-based healing (and we've already seen that Potions, another form of non-Ether based healing, do work thanks to Quest 75). Quote
Zepher Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I'm of the same mind. For the time being, I will allow the staff to be used within my quest until we get an official ruling. That should appease Scuba - the QM making the call. Quote
Sandy Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Here's some new consumable items I've cooked up. Cutcobra Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) EDIT: Ignore. Wrong topic. Edited January 14, 2014 by Cutcobra Quote
Flipz Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I'm really liking all these bombs! What happen? Somebody set up us the bomb. "I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!" Quote
